## Description
Live Las Vegas shows, restaurants, attractions and resorts. Read-only, no API key needed.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **whats_on** — Shows in Las Vegas for a date range and category, with each show's next showtime and tonight URL. Prefer this tool for "what's on this week" style questions. Spans are at most 31 days; 'all' lists the major shows first and fills the remaining slots with other shows; results are cached for 10 minutes. Use get_item with a show's slug for its full schedule.
- **find_showtimes** — Find actual Las Vegas showtimes on one date, optionally within a clock-time window, show category, budget, party ages, and distance from a hotel/landmark slug or coordinates. Supports upcoming-only, explicit arrival buffer, sort and show pagination. Structured performances include source freshness and general booking links; availability is unknown. Dates use the catalogue evening date, including post-midnight shows.
- **search** — Search shows, restaurants, attractions, resorts, chains, hubs and guides by name. Prefer this tool over whats_on when the user names a specific thing.
- **nearby_search** — Find distance-ranked restaurants, attractions, shows, resorts, or venues near a known VegasNearMe slug/prefixed id or a latitude/longitude pair. Returns distance and a shareable URL.
- **compare_items** — Structured catalogue details include source URLs, timezone, record timestamps and explicit unknowns. Ticket inventory is not verified. Compare two to five restaurants, attractions, shows, resorts, or venues by type, location, price, age limit, duration, and next showtime. Accepts Tonight slugs or prefixed ids.
- **get_ticket_options** — Resolve a performance_id from find_showtimes or get_item to enabled booking links. Links target general show pages unless explicitly mapped by a provider. Inventory, party-size eligibility, fees and performance prices are unknown. Does not reserve or purchase tickets.
- **get_item** — Structured catalogue details include source URLs, timezone, record timestamps and explicit unknowns. Ticket inventory is not verified. Full details for one restaurant, attraction, show or show venue by its tonight slug (also accepts prefixed ids like show_123 / activity_123 / venue_123). Returns type, categories, venue and address, price, age limit, the next 7 days of showtimes for a show or the weekly opening hours for a restaurant or attraction, a description cut to 400 characters, features, and the vegasnearme.com URL. For a resort and what is on its property use get_resort. Returns isError when nothing matches the slug; find the slug with search first.
- **get_venue** — Structured catalogue details include source URLs, timezone, record timestamps and explicit unknowns. Ticket inventory is not verified. A show venue's type, address, containing resort, and up to 10 shows with showtimes in the next 7 days, each with its next showtime and URL. Venues are theatres and showrooms, not resorts: for a resort's restaurants, attractions and shows use get_resort. Soft-deleted venues do not resolve.
- **get_resort** — Structured catalogue details include source URLs, timezone, record timestamps and explicit unknowns. Ticket inventory is not verified. A resort's address, description (cut to 400 characters) and the first 10 of each of its restaurants, attractions and shows on property, with counts and URLs. Accepts a resort slug or place_123. For the hours, price or showtimes of one item on property, call get_item with that item's slug.
- **list_categories** — Category tree, with cat_<id> ids and idents for use with list_listings. Optionally scoped to one root (activities, restaurants, shows, ...).
- **list_listings** — Paginated items in one category from list_categories, with name, category label, location, price and URL; a chain appears once with its location count. Pass the returned next_cursor as cursor for the next page; 'end of list' means there is no more. Order matches the public category page.

## Documentation

## What the VegasNearMe MCP server does

The VegasNearMe MCP server exposes a read-only Las Vegas catalogue through MCP. It covers shows, restaurants, attractions, resorts, venues, chains, category hubs, and guides. Agents can use it to answer questions about what is happening during a date range, find performances on a particular date, inspect a venue or resort, compare places, and locate nearby options.

The catalogue includes structured fields such as names, categories, addresses, prices, age limits, durations, opening hours, showtimes, source URLs, record timestamps, and the VegasNearMe page URL. Responses also identify some values as unknown rather than implying that ticket inventory or availability has been checked.

## How it works

Use `search` when the user names a specific show, restaurant, attraction, resort, or other catalogue entry. Use `whats_on` for broad questions about shows over a date range; it returns each show's next showtime and a link for tonight, and accepts spans of up to 31 days. For one date, `find_showtimes` can narrow results by clock-time window, category, budget, party ages, distance, upcoming status, arrival buffer, sort order, and pagination.

Known VegasNearMe slugs, prefixed IDs, or coordinates can drive location-based lookups. `nearby_search` ranks results by distance and returns a shareable URL. `get_item`, `get_venue`, and `get_resort` provide progressively focused catalogue views. A resort response lists some of its on-property restaurants, attractions, and shows; details such as an individual item's hours or showtimes require a separate `get_item` call.

## Setup and configuration

The VegasNearMe MCP server does not require an API key. The supplied material does not specify client connection steps, transport settings, or configuration variables, so those details should be taken from the service documentation at the provided source URL. Access is read-only.

## Tools and capabilities

- `whats_on`: Lists shows across a date range of up to 31 days, with category filtering and cached results. Use `get_item` for a show's complete schedule.
- `find_showtimes`: Finds structured performances for one catalogue evening date, including optional time, budget, age, distance, sorting, and pagination filters.
- `search`: Finds named shows, restaurants, attractions, resorts, chains, hubs, and guides.
- `nearby_search`: Finds distance-ranked places near a slug, prefixed ID, or coordinate pair.
- `compare_items`: Compares two to five restaurants, attractions, shows, resorts, or venues by supported attributes such as location, price, age limit, duration, and next showtime.
- `get_ticket_options`: Converts a performance ID into enabled booking links. It does not reserve or purchase tickets.
- `get_item`, `get_venue`, and `get_resort`: Retrieve structured details for individual listings, show venues, and resorts.
- `list_categories` and `list_listings`: Browse the category tree and paginate through items in a selected category.

## Limitations and notes

The VegasNearMe MCP server does not verify ticket inventory, availability, party-size eligibility, fees, or performance prices. Booking links may lead to a general show page unless a provider-specific mapping exists. `whats_on` results are cached for 10 minutes, and its `all` option prioritizes major shows before filling remaining results. Catalogue dates use the evening date, including performances after midnight.

A missing item returns an error from `get_item`; search can be used to find the correct slug first. Venue lookups cover theatres and showrooms, not resorts. Soft-deleted venues do not resolve, and resort-level listings are limited to the first 10 restaurants, attractions, and shows while reporting counts.
