## Description
AI and human share live mobile+desktop browser sessions; measured UI findings your agent can act on

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **see_screen** — Returns the current screen as an image — the exact frame the human sees in the panel
- **inspect** — Runs contrast / touch-target / overflow / theme checks; returns **measured findings as text
- **goto** — Navigates all sessions to a URL (localhost included)
- **tap** — Drives the page — the human watches it happen live
- **set_device** — Switches device profile (iphone-15, iphone-se, pixel, galaxy, ipad, desktop, laptop) or light/dark theme
- **status** — Open URL, sessions, recent console/network errors — first stop when hunting a bug
- **marks** — Reads the notes the human pinned in the panel (📌 note + screenshot at that moment)

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

## Documentation

## What the uisight MCP server does

The uisight MCP server gives an agent a live view of responsive web interfaces and returns measurements it can use when reviewing or debugging a page. It works with mobile and desktop browser sessions, including localhost URLs, and keeps the human and agent focused on the same current screen through the accompanying panel.

The main distinction is that inspection results are returned as text findings rather than requiring the agent to infer problems from an image. Findings can identify low contrast, invisible text, small touch targets, overflow, and theme-related issues, with details such as selectors, measured ratios, dimensions, and affected text. The supported scope is web and responsive UI work; native iOS and Android applications are outside its scope.

## How it works

A live panel displays mobile and desktop sessions side by side. Sessions are URL-synchronized, and the human can watch agent actions as they happen. The agent can request the current frame with `see_screen`, navigate all sessions with `goto`, and change a device profile or color theme with `set_device`.

`inspect` runs checks against the current screens and returns measured findings. The checks described by the project include contrast, touch-target size, overflow, and theme behavior. `status` reports the open URL, active sessions, and recent console or network errors, making it a useful first query during bug investigation. Human users can pin a note with a screenshot in the panel; `marks` makes those notes and captured frames available to the agent.

## Setup and configuration

Install and run the MCP process through npm. For Claude Code, the documented command is:

```bash
claude mcp add --scope user uisight -- npx -y -p uisight@latest uisight-mcp
```

Other MCP hosts can use an equivalent server entry with `npx`, `-y`, `-p`, `uisight@latest`, and `uisight-mcp` as the arguments. Claude Desktop also has an `.mcpb` release bundle that can be opened directly; it asks for the page, tool set, and whether to download the browser on first use.

The browser driver is supplied through Playwright, but browser binaries are downloaded separately. The first run can offer to install Chromium, or it can be installed manually with `npx playwright install chromium`. Set `UISIGHT_NO_INSTALL=1` to disable the installation offer. `UISIGHT_LANG=tr` enables Turkish tool names. The live panel can be started with `npx -y -p uisight uisight-panel <url>` and is served locally at port 5055.

## Tools and capabilities

The uisight MCP server exposes these documented tools:

- `see_screen`: returns the current screen as an image.
- `inspect`: runs contrast, touch-target, overflow, and theme checks and returns text findings.
- `goto`: navigates all sessions to a URL.
- `tap`: interacts with the page while the human watches.
- `set_device`: selects a device profile or light/dark theme.
- `status`: reports the current URL, sessions, and recent console or network errors.
- `marks`: reads notes and screenshots pinned by the human in the panel.

Device profiles include iPhone, Pixel, Galaxy, iPad, desktop, and laptop options. The checks cover issues such as low contrast, text below 12px, missing image alt text, clipped content, touch targets below 44px on mobile profiles, and controls covered by other elements or fixed interface areas.

## Limitations and notes

The server is designed for browser-based web interfaces, not native mobile apps. Browser binaries are not included with the package or Claude Desktop bundle and may require a separate download. The project also documents that some checks depend on the active device profile; for example, touch-target checks apply to mobile profiles.
