## Description
MCP server for Titan Email (IMAP/SMTP), tested and confirmed with GoDaddy mailboxes.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **test_connection** — Verifies IMAP + SMTP login without touching any mail. **Run this first.
- **list_folders** — Folders with message / unread counts.
- **list_emails** — Latest emails in a folder (optionally unread only).
- **search_emails** — Filter by from, to, subject, text, date range, unread.
- **read_email** — Full message by UID: headers, text body, attachment list.
- **send_email** — Send new mail (copy saved to Sent). Disabled when `TITAN_ALLOW_SEND=false`.
- **reply_email** — Threaded reply / reply-all, or save the reply as a draft instead of sending.
- **save_draft** — Save to Drafts without sending — always available, even in read-only mode.
- **move_email** — Move messages to another folder (Archive, Trash, etc.).
- **set_flags** — Mark read/unread, flag/unflag.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "titan-email-mcp": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","titan-email-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "TITAN_EMAIL": "",
      "TITAN_PASSWORD": "",
      "TITAN_PROVIDER": "",
      "TITAN_FROM_NAME": "",
      "TITAN_ALLOW_SEND": "",
      "TITAN_IMAP_HOST": "",
      "TITAN_IMAP_PORT": "",
      "TITAN_SMTP_HOST": ""
    }
  }
}
```

**Requires environment variables:** `TITAN_EMAIL`, `TITAN_PASSWORD`, `TITAN_PROVIDER`, `TITAN_FROM_NAME`, `TITAN_ALLOW_SEND`, `TITAN_IMAP_HOST`, `TITAN_IMAP_PORT`, `TITAN_SMTP_HOST` — the values above are empty placeholders; fill in real credentials before running (see the repository for what each one is for).

## Documentation

## What titan-email-mcp MCP server does

The titan-email-mcp MCP server gives an MCP-compatible AI client access to a Titan Email mailbox. It communicates with the mailbox through IMAP for reading and message management, and SMTP for sending mail. The project has been tested with Titan mailboxes hosted through GoDaddy as well as direct Titan Email configurations.

Mailbox operations include listing folders and their message counts, viewing recent messages, filtering mail by sender, recipient, subject, body text, dates, or unread status, and reading a message by UID. Read results include headers, text content, and an attachment list. Messages can also be moved between folders and marked read, unread, flagged, or unflagged.

Outgoing operations cover new messages, threaded replies, reply-all, and drafts. Sending can be disabled with `TITAN_ALLOW_SEND=false`; saving a draft does not depend on sending being enabled.

## How it works

Titan Email does not provide a public REST API for this use case, so the server uses Titan's standard IMAP and SMTP services. The mailbox credentials are supplied through the MCP client's local configuration and are used to connect directly to those services over TLS. The server does not require a separate proxy or vendor API integration according to the project documentation.

Run `test_connection` before accessing mail. It checks both IMAP and SMTP authentication without reading or changing messages. For direct Titan accounts, the default hosts are `imap.titan.email` and `smtp.titan.email`. GoDaddy-hosted mailboxes use the `godaddy` provider preset, which selects GoDaddy's corresponding IMAP and SMTP hostnames.

## Setup and configuration

Enable IMAP/SMTP access in Titan webmail or the relevant reseller settings before connecting. Titan labels this option “Enable Titan on other apps”; GoDaddy exposes an equivalent setting in Email & Office. Without this setting, valid credentials may still be rejected.

The package can be started with `npx titan-email-mcp`, or cloned and built with npm to produce `dist/index.js`. Register the command and its environment variables in the MCP client's configuration, then restart the client and run `test_connection`.

Set `TITAN_PROVIDER=godaddy` when both the domain and mailbox were purchased through GoDaddy. Leave the provider unset or use `titan` for direct Titan Email defaults. If another reseller uses different endpoints, override the IMAP and SMTP host and port variables directly; explicit host and port values take precedence over provider presets.

## Tools and capabilities

The titan-email-mcp MCP server exposes these mailbox tools:

- `test_connection` checks IMAP and SMTP login.
- `list_folders` returns folders with message and unread counts.
- `list_emails` retrieves recent messages, with an unread-only option.
- `search_emails` applies sender, recipient, subject, text, date, and unread filters.
- `read_email` returns message headers, text, and attachment details by UID.
- `send_email` sends a message and saves a copy to Sent when enabled.
- `reply_email` sends or drafts a threaded reply or reply-all response.
- `save_draft` saves an unsent message to Drafts.
- `move_email` moves messages between folders.
- `set_flags` changes read and flag states.

## Limitations and notes

This server depends on IMAP/SMTP access being enabled by the mailbox provider. It is intended for Titan Email endpoints and documents direct Titan and GoDaddy-hosted configurations; other resellers may require manually supplied hostnames and ports.

Sending is controlled by `TITAN_ALLOW_SEND`. Use `false` for read-only or draft-focused operation. Draft saving remains available in that mode. The documented connection check validates authentication but does not test message retrieval or sending a real email.
