## What tickadoo/tickadoo-mcp does

tickadoo/tickadoo-mcp gives AI assistants access to tickadoo's catalogue of bookable experiences across 700+ cities. It covers theatre, musicals, concerts, comedy, sightseeing, tours, food, family activities, nightlife, cruises, sports, workshops, and other live experiences.

The full MCP surface supports discovery and planning rather than requiring an account or API key. Results can include live availability, prices, venue information, images, comparison details, and tickadoo booking links. Bookings are completed on tickadoo.com. The service also provides destination-level guidance, local travel tips, arrival transfers, and structured plans for families.

## How it works

Clients can connect directly to the Streamable HTTP endpoint at `https://mcp.tickadoo.com/mcp`. For clients that need stdio, `@tickadoo/mcp-server` runs as a local bridge and forwards MCP operations to that remote endpoint. The package proxies tool listing, tool calls, resource operations, and ping requests; the remote service owns the available tools, schemas, results, and errors.

Tool arguments such as city names, search text, dates, experience identifiers, and location data are sent to the tickadoo backend. Many tools accept a language code, including codes such as `de`, `fr`, `es`, and `ja`, to produce localized booking URLs. The full endpoint is read-mostly and is intended for discovery, recommendations, availability, comparisons, and itinerary-style planning.

Set `TICKADOO_MCP_URL` to use another compatible Streamable HTTP endpoint, and set `TICKADOO_LOG_LEVEL=none` to suppress bridge status logs on stderr. The bridge requires Node.js 22 or newer for local development and execution. No credential or API key is needed.

Gemini CLI can install the repository as an extension. Claude Code can use its marketplace flow or add the full remote URL with HTTP transport.

## Limitations and notes

The portable public-agent endpoint is separate from the full MCP surface and omits direct purchase, transaction, and checkout links. The npm package is a bridge rather than a local catalogue or backend. Only configure `TICKADOO_MCP_URL` with an endpoint you trust, because the bridge forwards tool arguments to that destination. The travel-tips tool provides hardcoded local advice for 20 launch cities.
