## Description
Manage ad campaigns across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok via AI agents

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **list_campaigns** — List campaigns for ONE ad platform across all 16 ad platforms. `platform` is required -- this tool does not aggregate across platforms. Returns campaign name, status, budget, and performance metrics. 100% Free to Read ($0.00 / 0 credits — works out-of-the-box with zero configuration or API key; live write execution starts on the $20/month Solo plan).
- **create_search_campaign** — Create a Google Ads Search campaign with an ad group, responsive search ad, and keywords — all in one atomic request. Supports `dry_run: true` ($0.00 / 0 credits, zero credentials required) to preview payload and policy checks. Live execution passes the server-side Agent Shield safety gate (daily spend caps, paused-on-create default, human approval mode, and immutable workspace audit log) on the $20/month Solo plan ($20.00 included monthly credits, 0% ad-spend markup). IMPORTANT — creative floor: supply 11-15 headlines (15 recommended, max 30 chars each) and 4 descriptions (max 90 chars each), echoing your target keywords across at least 5 headlines. The API accepts as few as 3 headlines / 2 descriptions, but ads built near that minimum score 'Poor' on Google Ad Strength, get throttled in the auction, and may be rejected by the platform — treat 11 headlines / 4 descriptions as the real minimum. Fewer than 3 headlines or fewer than 2 descriptions will cause the campaign to be rejected before any API call is made.
- **create_display_campaign** — Create a Google Ads Display campaign with responsive display ads. Supports image uploads from URLs, `dry_run: true` ($0.00 / 0 credits, zero credentials required), and server-side safety gates (daily spend caps, paused-on-create default, approval mode, and audit log).
- **create_pmax_campaign** — Create a Google Ads Performance Max campaign. Requires images, headlines, descriptions, and a business name. Supports `dry_run: true` ($0.00 / 0 credits, zero credentials required) and server-side safety gates (daily spend caps, paused-on-create default, approval mode, and audit log).
- **pause_campaign** — Pause a campaign by ID across all 16 connected ad platforms. Supports `dry_run: true` ($0.00 / 0 credits, zero credentials required). Live execution is audited in the workspace audit log ($0.05 / 2 credits on Solo $20/mo plan).
- **update_campaign_budget** — Update the daily budget for a campaign across all 16 connected ad platforms. Supports `dry_run: true` ($0.00 / 0 credits, zero credentials required). Live execution passes the server-side Agent Shield safety gate (daily spend ceiling, max 2x budget-change multiplier, approval mode, and immutable audit log).
- **get_performance** — Get performance metrics (impressions, clicks, spend, conversions, ROAS) for campaigns across any of the 16 ad platforms. Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **get_daily_spend** — Get daily spend breakdown for ONE ad platform across any of the 16 ad platforms. `platform` is required -- this tool does not aggregate across platforms. Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **pacing_report** — Return a deterministic budget-pacing snapshot for the current workspace across every connected ad platform and the overall portfolio (month-to-date spend, today's spend, expected spend to date, pacing percent, projected end-of-period spend, on_track/underspending/overspending/critical status, and off-pace warnings). Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **user_budget_pacing_report** — Return a deterministic per-user/trader budget ownership and pacing snapshot from saved workspace assignments (target budget, actual spend, expected spend, projected spend, variance, and pacing status). Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **optimize_budget** — Recommend a cross-channel budget allocation across connected ad platforms using diminishing-returns modeling. Recommend-only (dry_run defaults to true); apply approved changes with update_campaign_budget. Free read-only recommendation tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **add_keywords** — Add keywords to a Google Ads campaign or ad group.
- **add_negative_keywords** — Manage negative keywords in Google Ads across campaign, ad-group, shared negative list (create, add/remove terms, attach/detach campaigns), and account levels, with full post-change readback.
- **create_conversion** — Create a conversion action in Google Ads. Returns the conversion ID and label for GTM setup.
- **list_conversions** — List all conversion actions configured in Google Ads. Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **diagnose_tracking** — Check if conversion tracking is properly set up on a website. Verifies gtag.js, GTM, and pixel installation. Free read-only tool ($0.00 / 0 credits).
- **generate_image** — Generate an AI image for ad creatives using Imagen 4, Flux, or Stable Diffusion.
- **generate_video** — Generate an AI video ad using Veo, Runway, or Luma. Great for YouTube and social ads.
- **create_meta_campaign** — Create a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising campaign.
- **create_linkedin_campaign** — Create a LinkedIn Ads campaign for B2B advertising.
- **create_reddit_campaign** — Create a Reddit Ads campaign for community-based advertising.
- **stage_audience_artifact** — Stage a hashed-PII payload (newline-delimited identifiers — SHA-256 emails, phones, or raw MAIDs) in Synter's private artifact store and return an opaque artifact_id. Pass that id to sync_audience via *_artifact_id parameters. No credits charged. Use this instead of pasting hashed identifiers inline when you have more than ~500 entries.
- **sync_audience** — Upload an audience to an ad platform (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Reddit, TikTok, X, StackAdapt). Accepts inline hashed identifiers (hashed_emails, hashed_phones), raw mobile_ids (IDFA/GAID), company_domains, a public csv_url, or *_artifact_id references staged via stage_audience_artifact. Costs 10 credits on success.
- **manage_audience** — Create, upload to, or list first-party audiences in Google Ads via the Data Manager API. Supports Customer Match lists from emails, phone numbers, and company domains (B2B). Use action='create' to build a new audience, 'upload' to append members to an existing one, 'list' to see all audiences, 'status' to check an upload job, or 'list-sources' to see linked data sources (GA4, Merchant Center).
- **list_ad_accounts** — List all connected ad accounts across platforms.
- **upload_image** — Upload an image as an asset for use in ads.
- **run_tool** — Run any Synter tool by name. Use this for advanced operations not covered by other tools. See docs.synterai.com for full tool list.
- **list_landing_pages** — List all landing pages for the authenticated workspace, including publish status, custom domain, and URLs.
- **inspect_agent_shield** — Inspect Synter Agent Shield security guardrails: spend velocity limits, circuit breaker status, and PII protection fences. Free read-only security audit tool.
- **verify_angstrom_claim** — Verify advertising claims, budget shifts, or campaign targets against Synter Ångström deterministic ground-truth verification model. Free claim verification tool.
- **get_skill** — Retrieve core advertising skill runbooks and playbooks (e.g. 'pmax-brand-cannibalization', 'search-hygiene-shield', 'marginal-cpa-budget-rebalancer', 'meta-asc-dark-pool-auditor', 'single-truth-attribution') or pass 'all' to list catalog. Free loadable operational knowledge for AI coding agents.
- **get_llm_visibility** — Query AI model visibility, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) ranking, and brand share of voice across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. Free read-only intelligence tool.

## Documentation

## What the synter-ads MCP server does

The synter-ads MCP server connects AI clients to advertising accounts across major buying channels. It provides reporting for 19 platforms, including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Spotify, Amazon, Walmart Connect, Instacart, Target Roundel, Criteo, The Trade Desk, Display & Video 360, and OpenAI Ads.

Campaign creation is available for 14 platforms: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Spotify, Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, and OpenAI Ads.

## How it works

The synter-ads MCP server is available as an npm package for local stdio use or as a hosted MCP endpoint using Streamable HTTP. The npm package includes typed tools for common tasks and a `run_tool` operation that can reach the full catalog of more than 140 Synter tools. The hosted endpoint exposes the complete hosted tool set, including performance queries for the listed platforms.

Agents can use natural-language requests to list campaigns, inspect spend, create supported campaign types, modify daily budgets, pause campaigns, add keywords, and manage conversion tracking. Creative operations include AI image and video generation plus image uploads. Write tools are annotated as destructive, allowing an MCP client to ask for approval before carrying out changes. These safeguards do not eliminate the need to review actions that can spend budget or alter live campaigns.

## Setup and configuration

Create a Synter API key through Synter’s Developer Settings, then provide it as the `SYNTER_API_KEY` environment variable for the local package. A typical local configuration runs `npx @synterai/mcp-server`; the README provides setup examples for Claude Desktop and Cursor.

For remote use, configure an MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP with `https://mcp.syntermedia.ai/mcp/` and send the API key in the `X-Synter-Key` header. This option does not require a local installation and is documented for clients and automation services including ChatGPT, n8n, and Zapier.

## Tools and capabilities

Common typed tools cover:

- Listing connected ad accounts and campaigns
- Reading impressions, clicks, spend, conversions, ROAS, and daily spend
- Creating Google Search, Display, and Performance Max campaigns
- Creating campaigns for Meta, LinkedIn, and Reddit
- Pausing campaigns and changing daily budgets
- Adding positive and negative keywords
- Creating and listing conversion actions
- Diagnosing conversion tracking
- Generating images or videos and uploading images
- Calling additional tools through `run_tool`

The synter-ads MCP server is suitable for campaign reporting, multi-platform account operations, budget changes, targeting maintenance, and agent-assisted creative workflows.

## Limitations and notes

Campaign creation and write coverage varies by platform. Some platforms support reporting only, and others support selected updates without campaign creation. The server can expose operations that launch campaigns, change bids or budgets, pause campaigns, add keywords, and upload creatives; those actions can affect live advertising accounts and spending.

The npm package is the raw MCP server. The README identifies a separate Synter plugin as the canonical installable Claude plugin, with additional skills, agents, and an approval-before-spend hook. Use the MCP package when the client or integration requires the server tools directly.
