## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Remote MCP endpoint (confidence: high). Install path detected from listing signals. Add as a URL/SSE server in your client:

  "syncso": {
    "url": "https://rtdb.syncso.com/partner/mcp"
  }
}
```
## Documentation
## What SyncSo MCP server does
The SyncSo MCP server connects an AI assistant to SyncSo’s live catalogue of things happening in New York. It covers events and experiences across music, theater, comedy, film, art, sports, festivals, markets, food and drink, classes, tours, and nightlife. Listings may include scheduled dates, times, prices, booking URLs, and images.
The service is intended for questions where current local information matters. An agent can use it to suggest activities for a particular day, find options within a time window, identify free or outdoor events, or return something a user can book. New York is the only supported city described in the repository. For requests about other locations, the provided guidance directs the assistant not to guess.
## How it works
The SyncSo MCP server is available at `https://rtdb.syncso.com/partner/mcp`. MCP-compatible clients connect to that hosted endpoint and expose the service’s two tools to the model:
- `find_things_to_do` searches for relevant events and activities.
- `get_details` retrieves more information about a selected result.
The first search prompts the user to sign in at SyncSo. Accounts receive a free monthly allowance of searches. The service uses the same account whether a client connects through MCP or uses the alternative skill file.
## Setup and configuration
For a client that accepts remote MCP servers, add the endpoint as a server URL. A generic configuration has this shape:
```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "syncso": { "url": "https://rtdb.syncso.com/partner/mcp" }
  }
}
```
Claude users can add the URL as a custom connector. Claude Code can register it with `claude mcp add --transport http syncso https://rtdb.syncso.com/partner/mcp`. The repository also documents a Claude Code plugin and a skill installation command for coding agents:
```bash
npx skills add SyncSo-Inc/syncso
```
Clients that do not use MCP can load `https://syncso.com/SKILL.md`; the file contains the tool guidance and definitions and is described as the current version. OpenClaw users can install its skill with `openclaw skills install @liangstl/syncso`. Users can obtain their sign-in code at `syncso.com/connect`.
## Tools and capabilities
The SyncSo MCP server keeps its tool surface small. Search is handled by `find_things_to_do`, while `get_details` supplies information for an individual result. Together, they support discovery followed by inspection of the event information needed for a recommendation or booking decision.
The underlying catalogue is focused on New York and is not presented as a general-purpose events source for other cities. Its breadth includes both well-known institutions and smaller, time-specific activities, according to the repository description.
## Limitations and notes
Coverage is limited to New York at present. The repository says additional cities may be added later, but does not specify availability or timing. ChatGPT connector setup is documented as forthcoming in its app directory; until then, the README describes adding the MCP URL through developer mode, which may not be available on every plan.
The project is licensed under MIT. No local API key or environment variable is specified in the provided setup instructions.
