## Description
Free hotel comparison for AI assistants: 77k hotels on the same criteria, with reasons. No key.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **search_hotels** — Up to 20 hotels for a city, name or preference ("pool", "breakfast"), compared on the same fields: score and its source, star class, area, nearest station, amenities, typical price
- **get_hotel** — Staylist's AI overview (pros, cons, who it suits), how the hotel compares with others in its city, check-in/out times, child policy, nearest airport and station
- **get_booking_link** — The booking page for the chosen hotel, plus its Staylist page
- **list_destinations** — Popular starting points (any city can be searched)

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation

## Documentation

## What Staylist World does

Staylist World MCP server gives AI assistants access to a hotel comparison service covering more than 77,000 hotels. It helps an assistant find and compare properties using consistent fields rather than relying only on unstructured search results. Search results can include an AI score and its source, star class, location area, nearest station, amenities, and a previously observed typical price.

The service also provides an AI-written hotel overview with pros, cons, and an indication of who the property may suit. It can explain how a hotel compares with others in the same city and return check-in and check-out times, child policy, nearest airport, and nearest station. The booking-link tool points to the selected hotel’s booking page and its Staylist page; Staylist does not complete bookings or process payments.

## How it works

The Staylist World MCP server is available remotely at `https://staylist.world/mcp` using Streamable HTTP. The endpoint does not require authentication, an account, or an API key. An assistant sends travel-related search requests and receives structured results from the exposed tools.

`search_hotels` accepts a city, hotel name, or preference such as “pool” or “breakfast,” and returns up to 20 matching hotels. `list_destinations` provides popular starting points, while searches are not limited to that list because any city can be requested. After selecting a property, an assistant can call `get_hotel` for more context and `get_booking_link` to locate the booking page.

## Setup and configuration

Add the remote MCP URL to a client that supports HTTP MCP connections. The README documents custom connector or remote-server setup for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Grok, Muse, Perplexity, Le Chat, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI. For Claude Code, the documented command is:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http staylist https://staylist.world/mcp
```

A personal connection URL is available from `https://staylist.world/connect` and provides an individual rate-limit allowance. No environment variables or credentials are required for the remote service.

## Tools and capabilities

- `search_hotels`: Find up to 20 hotels by city, name, or preference and compare shared fields.
- `get_hotel`: Retrieve the hotel overview, pros and cons, suitable guest profile, city comparison, policies, and nearby airport or station.
- `get_booking_link`: Return the selected hotel’s booking page and Staylist page.
- `list_destinations`: Show popular destination starting points.

Staylist World MCP server data identifies where facts come from and marks missing values as unknown. Scores are based on guest ratings and reviews, amenities, transit distance, and previously observed prices.

## Limitations and notes

Typical prices are historical observations, not live quotes. The booking site must be checked for current price and availability for specific dates. Empty fields mean the information is unknown, not that the hotel lacks the feature.

Coverage is strongest in large tourist cities, and AI overviews are available for a growing portion of the hotel catalog. Fair-use limits allow 60 requests per minute per person when using a personal link. Requests should contain travel search terms only; personal and payment details should not be sent. The service is part of the Travel & Transportation category and is intended for hotel research rather than reservation payment or fulfillment.
