## Description
Agent skills for Claude, Codex and Cursor: find, install and load skills from one connector.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

## Documentation

## What the Skill Me MCP server does

The Skill Me MCP server gives compatible agents access to reusable skills from the Skill Me catalog. A skill is a plain-text `SKILL.md` file containing instructions for a particular task or workflow. The repository is the public home for 482 Skill Me-authored files, while the linked catalog contains more than 2,500 skills and packs.

Its connector-based workflow is intended to reduce the need to locate and copy skill files manually. After connecting Skill Me, an agent can request a skill by name. The available collection includes developer-oriented material such as accessibility reviews, API client generation, REST API design, database schema design, code review, testing, CI/CD, and environment diagnosis.

## How it works

Skill Me exposes three central operations through its MCP connection: finding a skill, installing a selected skill, and loading its instructions for use by an agent. The instructions remain readable as ordinary text, so developers can inspect what a skill does before adding it to a workflow.

For local file-based use, the same skills can be placed in tool-specific directories. The documented locations are `.agents/skills/` for Codex, `.cursor/skills/` for Cursor, and `.claude/skills/` for Claude Code. This makes the catalog usable either through the connector or as files checked into a project.

## Setup and configuration

For Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or Cursor, connect Skill Me once through the Skill Me connection page, then request skills by name. The repository also documents several local installation paths:

- Install one skill for Codex, Cursor, or Claude Code with `npx @skillme/cli add <slug> --target all`.
- Add the repository with `npx skills add SkillMedev/skills` when using the skills CLI.
- Copy a selected `skills/<slug>/SKILL.md` file into the directory used by the target client.

No environment variables or additional configuration values are specified in the provided material. The skill slug is required when using the per-skill CLI command.

## Tools and capabilities

The Skill Me MCP server supports these catalog actions:

- Find skills by name or catalog entry.
- Install a selected skill for supported agent environments.
- Load a skill's `SKILL.md` instructions into an agent workflow.
- Browse portable skills organized around software development and related tasks.
- Inspect skill instructions before installation.

The files are described as MIT-licensed and use the open `SKILL.md` format. The README lists compatibility with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and Codex, and also describes a connector flow for ChatGPT.

## Limitations and notes

The provided material does not define individual MCP tool names, request schemas, authentication settings, transport details, update behavior, or version pinning. It also does not claim that every skill works identically across every client. Review each `SKILL.md` file before installation, particularly when selecting instructions for a specific runtime or project.

The repository count and catalog count are different: the repository identifies 482 hosted files, while the linked browsing page advertises more than 2,500 skills and packs. Use the connector for agent-directed discovery, or use the documented CLI and file-copy methods when you need a local installation.
