## Description
Shopify MCP Pack — wraps the Shopify Admin REST API (2024-01)

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **shopify_list_products** — List products from a Shopify store. Returns up to 50 products by default.
- **shopify_get_product** — Fetch a single Shopify product by numeric ID, returning its title, description, variants, pricing, inventory, and images via the Admin API.
- **shopify_list_orders** — List orders from a Shopify store, optionally filtered by status.
- **shopify_get_order** — Fetch a single Shopify order by numeric ID, returning line items, customer info, fulfillment status, totals, and shipping address via the Admin API.
- **shopify_list_customers** — List customers in a Shopify store (up to 250 per call). Returns customer IDs, names, emails, order counts, and total spend. Requires Admin API access token and shop domain.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "shopify": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@pipeworx/mcp-shopify"]
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What the Shopify MCP server does

The Shopify MCP server gives MCP-compatible clients access to selected Shopify Admin REST API data. Its interface is focused on retrieval: product listings and details, order listings and details, and customer listings. It does not document product creation, order updates, fulfillment actions, or other write operations.

Product detail responses can include the title, description, variants, prices, inventory, and images. Order detail responses can include line items, customer information, fulfillment status, totals, and shipping address. Customer listings include customer IDs, names, email addresses, order counts, and total spend.

## How it works

The package can connect through the Pipeworx-hosted MCP endpoint at `https://gateway.pipeworx.io/shopify/mcp`, or it can run locally through the `@pipeworx/mcp-shopify` npm package. The local process communicates over stdin and stdout and responds to standard MCP operations such as initialization, tool discovery, and tool calls.

The hosted endpoint serves the Shopify pack together with Pipeworx shared meta-tools. These include routing and discovery functions such as `ask_pipeworx`; the exact tool scope is reported by the connection’s `initialize` response. The local mode exposes only the tools belonging to this pack and does not provide the shared gateway meta-tools.

## Setup and configuration

For a hosted connection, add the MCP URL to a compatible client’s server configuration:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "shopify": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/shopify/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

For local use, configure the client to run the package with npx:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "shopify": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@pipeworx/mcp-shopify"]
    }
  }
}
```

Shopify API calls require the store’s shop domain and an Admin API access token. The hosted pack does not provide a Shopify API key on the caller’s behalf.

## Tools and capabilities

- `shopify_list_products`: Lists products, returning up to 50 by default.
- `shopify_get_product`: Retrieves one product by numeric ID.
- `shopify_list_orders`: Lists orders, with optional status filtering.
- `shopify_get_order`: Retrieves one order by numeric ID.
- `shopify_list_customers`: Lists up to 250 customers per call.

These tools suit catalog inspection, order lookup, customer reporting, and agent workflows that need to answer questions about store data. The Shopify MCP server uses the Admin REST API version identified by the project as 2024-01.

## Limitations and notes

The hosted and local connection modes differ in tool scope even though they use the same pack source. A hosted connection includes shared Pipeworx tools, while local stdio mode does not. The documentation does not specify pagination controls beyond the stated default or maximum result counts, nor does it list write capabilities. The project is licensed under MIT.
