## What Savee MCP server does

The Savee MCP server lets an AI client read information from Savee, a visual-inspiration platform where members collect images and video into boards. It can retrieve the signed-in profile, personal saves, the home feed, boards the account owns or belongs to, and the saves within a selected board.

The server also searches Savee's public library, which is broader than the connected account's own collections. Search results and saved items include source URLs, dimensions, and dominant colors. The `view_saves` tool returns the actual images for selected saves, allowing an assistant to examine composition, layout, typography, or how multiple references relate visually.

## How it works

Savee operates the MCP endpoint remotely at `https://mcp.savee.com/mcp`. The repository does not contain a local server to build or run; it provides manifests and setup information for the hosted service.

Communication uses Streamable HTTP. Clients that require an explicit transport type should use `streamableHttp`. The connection uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. During the first connection, the user signs in through Savee in a browser and approves requested scopes on a consent screen. No API key is required.

## Setup and configuration

To configure the Savee MCP server, add the hosted endpoint to an MCP client with the Streamable HTTP transport:

Claude Code can add it with `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user savee https://mcp.savee.com/mcp`. In Cursor, add an HTTP MCP server in Settings or place the configuration in `~/.cursor/mcp.json`. Claude accepts the endpoint as a custom connector, while VS Code can use the URL directly. Other client-specific instructions are available in Savee's installation documentation.

## Tools and capabilities

The seven available tools are read-only:

- `get_current_user` retrieves the signed-in Savee profile.
- `list_saves` lists the account's saves in newest-first order.
- `list_feed` reads the account's home feed.
- `list_boards` returns owned and joined boards.
- `list_board_saves` reads the saves in one board.
- `search` searches the public Savee library.
- `view_saves` returns images for specified saves.

These tools support tasks such as locating a reference in a personal collection, reviewing a board, searching public inspiration, or asking visual questions about saved images.

## Limitations and notes

The Savee MCP server cannot save, edit, move, or delete content. Private saves and private boards are available according to the connected user's permissions. Savee's setting for hiding private board saves from a profile feed also applies through this connection. If a user declines a tool's scope, that tool returns an error instead of returning data.

Use requires a Savee account with an active subscription. Disconnecting the authorization from Savee's Settings → Developers takes effect immediately. The repository contents are MIT licensed, while use of the hosted service is governed by Savee's terms.
