## Description
Unofficial local-first MCP server for Samsung Health personal-data CSV/ZIP exports.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **samsung_health_connection_status** — verify export path before reading data
- **samsung_health_data_inventory** — discover available record types, date coverage, source count and stale export risk
- **samsung_health_daily_summary** — daily wellness brief from export data
- **samsung_health_weekly_summary** — weekly comparison and habit signals
- **samsung_health_list_records** — bounded records by `type`, `start`, `end`, `limit`
- **samsung_health_list_workouts** — bounded workout records
- **samsung_health_reimport** — re-scan the watch folder (`SAMSUNG_HEALTH_WATCH_PATH`) and promote the newest export, refreshing summaries; pass `check_only: true` to preview without promoting

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "samsung-health-mcp": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","delx-wellness-hermes"]
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What samsung-health-mcp does

The samsung-health-mcp MCP server connects MCP-compatible agents to Samsung Health data that you export yourself from the Android app. It accepts a directory containing CSV files, one CSV file, or a ZIP archive. The parser infers record types from filenames and CSV headers, allowing exports to vary by app version, locale, and device.

Available data can include steps, distance, active energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, sleep, sleep stages, workouts, body weight, and body fat when those records exist in the export. The server exposes summaries and bounded data access rather than a live account connection.

## How it works

After the export is copied to the computer, the server reads it locally and makes selected information available through MCP. `samsung_health_connection_status` checks whether the configured export path is usable. `samsung_health_data_inventory` reports record types, date coverage, source count, and possible staleness in the export.

Daily and weekly summary tools turn available records into wellness briefs, comparisons, and habit signals. Record access remains bounded: `samsung_health_list_records` accepts a record type, date range, and limit, while `samsung_health_list_workouts` returns bounded workout data.

A watch-folder workflow can identify a newer Samsung Health folder or ZIP and make it the active export. Reimport can be triggered with `samsung_health_reimport`; its `check_only` option previews the result without promoting the export. Summaries are refreshed after a promotion.

## Setup and configuration

Export personal data in Samsung Health using More options, Settings, and Download personal data. Transfer the resulting folder or ZIP to the computer, then configure the path with the package setup command and verify it with the doctor command. The standard MCP configuration runs the package through `npx` and uses the default stdio transport.

For recurring imports, configure `SAMSUNG_HEALTH_WATCH_PATH` with a folder containing new Samsung Health exports. The server can scan that folder at startup and while running, and the reimport tool can scan it on demand. A single CSV, an export directory, and a Samsung Health ZIP are supported input forms.

The server also offers optional stateless Streamable HTTP on loopback. Start it with the HTTP flag, or configure `SAMSUNG_HEALTH_MCP_TRANSPORT=http`; host and port can be set with `SAMSUNG_HEALTH_MCP_HOST` and `SAMSUNG_HEALTH_MCP_PORT`.

## Tools and capabilities

The samsung-health-mcp MCP server includes tools for:

- Checking export-path status before reading data.
- Inspecting available signals, coverage dates, sources, and stale-export risk.
- Producing daily wellness and weekly comparison summaries.
- Listing bounded records by type and date range.
- Listing workout records.
- Previewing or promoting a newer export and refreshing summaries.

## Limitations and notes

This is an unofficial project and is not affiliated with Samsung Electronics. It does not log into Samsung, use a live Samsung Health cloud API, scrape accounts, or read Health Connect directly. A native Android bridge would be needed for a fully live sync.

The data is sensitive personal health information. Keep exports on trusted local storage, and do not commit CSV or ZIP files to source control, paste raw exports into chat, or upload them to issue trackers. The export path is read-only according to the project documentation. Device, region, and export contents determine which health signals are available.
