## Description
Dependency intelligence for AI coding agents. Live CVE scanning, dependency health, upgrade planning, ecosystem news, and decision memory. 14 tools, zero config, privacy-first.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "4da": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@4da/mcp-server"]
  }
}
## Documentation
## What runyourempire/4DA MCP server does
runyourempire/4DA gives AI coding agents access to dependency intelligence through the Model Context Protocol. Its focus is software supply-chain and maintenance context: identifying current CVEs, assessing dependency health, planning upgrades, tracking ecosystem news, and retaining decisions made during dependency work.
The server is distributed as the `@4da/mcp-server` npm package. The source repository shown by older links is a compatibility location; ongoing issues, releases, and contributions belong to the 4DA Systems repository.
## How it works
The MCP process reads the 4DA app's database and exposes 14 tools to an MCP-compatible client. The database schema used by the server is published with the application as `src-tauri/contract/app-schema.sql`. That schema is generated from migrations, and CI checks application schema changes against the server's queries before they are merged.
This design gives agents access to the dependency data maintained by the 4DA application rather than requiring each agent workflow to implement its own dependency intelligence layer. The server is described as privacy-first and requires no configuration for its standard installation path.
## Setup and configuration
The package can be registered with Claude Code using:
```bash
claude mcp add 4da -- npx @4da/mcp-server
```
It can also be installed as a Claude Code plugin:
```bash
claude plugin marketplace add 4DA-Systems/4da-mcp-server
claude plugin install 4da@4da
```
The npm package name remains `@4da/mcp-server`, even though the server's source has moved to its own repository. No environment variables or additional configuration are required for the documented installation.
## Tools and capabilities
The toolset contains 14 tools spanning:
- Live CVE scanning for dependency-related vulnerabilities
- Dependency health analysis
- Upgrade planning
- Ecosystem news relevant to dependencies
- Decision memory for retaining dependency-related context
These capabilities suit coding agents that need to inspect dependency risk, evaluate maintenance status, determine upgrade steps, or recall earlier decisions while working on a codebase.
## Limitations and notes
The server depends on the 4DA application's database and its published schema. Changes to that schema are validated against the server's queries in CI, so the app database and server are designed to evolve together.
The repository at `runyourempire/4DA` remains available for older links, but the active server repository is maintained under 4DA Systems. Installation continues to use the same npm package name.
