## Documentation

## What Replio MCP server does

The Replio MCP server lets an AI assistant guide the creation and operation of Replio training projects. A project can be built from company materials such as product sheets, procedures, or pitch decks. Replio processes those documents to extract knowledge, while the assistant helps establish training goals before personas are generated.

The workflow covers the project lifecycle: reviewing and changing personas, creating knowledge quizzes, setting training options, activating a project, inviting trainees, and checking outcomes. Managers can ask about session activity, average scores, individual progression, and whether people trained recently. The actual voice conversations take place on replio.eu with AI personas, rather than inside the assistant’s chat.

## How it works

The integration uses the hosted MCP endpoint at `https://api.replio.eu/mcp`. Nothing needs to run locally, and the README states that an API key is not required. The first action opens a browser sign-in flow. Managers authenticate with their Replio account; a client of a manager can instead enter an access code and does not need a Replio account.

The repository also provides a skill containing the guided setup process, tool catalog, client connection instructions, and troubleshooting guidance for persona and session issues. The assistant uses that skill for workflow knowledge and calls the hosted service to operate on the connected workspace.

## Setup and configuration

Install the supplied plugin or skill through the client-specific method. Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor have repository-based installation instructions. Other supported coding agents can install the skill with `npx skills add aiteklabs/replio-plugin`. The MCP connection is then configured as a remote HTTP server using the Replio endpoint.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop can add the endpoint as a custom connector. ChatGPT can add it as an app or connector using OAuth. After configuration, restart the agent if needed and approve the browser sign-in on the first Replio action.

## Tools and capabilities

The Replio MCP server supports these work areas:

- Create a training project from uploaded business documents.
- Agree on training goals and review extracted knowledge.
- Generate, edit, regenerate, add, or import reusable personas.
- Generate, review, and save knowledge-quiz questions.
- Configure expert chat, realtime feedback, standalone quizzes, hidden persona details, and hidden goal selection.
- Invite trainees and inspect participation, scores, and progression.

## Limitations and notes

Voice sessions are conducted on replio.eu, so this connection manages the training workflow rather than providing an in-chat voice session. Document extraction remains in Replio’s own parsing pipeline; the assistant is not intended to replace it with pasted summaries.

The plugin sends requests to the hosted Replio MCP server and stores no data on the local machine. Tool calls are journaled in the Replio dashboard for 30 days. Replio is described as built in Europe, GDPR compliant, and using EU data hosting. The repository is MIT licensed, while the Replio platform is a separate commercial service.
