## Description
Create spaced repetition flashcards in Rember to remember anything you learn in your chats.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **create_flashcards** — Create flashcards with AI. This tool takes a list of notes from Claude, it calls the Rember API to generate a few flashcards for each note. After learning something new in your chat with Claude, you can ask "help me remember this" or "create a few flashcards" or "add to Rember".

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "rember-mcp": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@getrember/mcp"]
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What rember/rember-mcp does

The rember/rember-mcp MCP server lets an MCP-compatible assistant send learning material to Rember and request AI-generated flashcards. Rember schedules spaced-repetition reviews, so the resulting cards can be used to revisit information over time.

The integration is designed for content captured during an assistant conversation. For example, a user can ask the assistant to help remember an explanation, add information to Rember, or create several flashcards.

## How it works

The server exposes one MCP tool, `create_flashcards`. The assistant supplies a list of notes, and the server passes those notes to the Rember API. Rember then generates a set of flashcards for each note. The tool response reports created Rember items rather than providing a guaranteed count of individual flashcards, so clients should not assume an exact card total unless the response explicitly provides one.

This workflow is useful when the assistant has already summarized or explained material and the user wants to turn that material into review items. The tool description includes example requests and guidance intended to help Claude identify when to invoke it.

## Setup and configuration

Run the server with `npx` and provide a Rember API key as a command-line argument:

```bash
npx -y @getrember/mcp --api-key=YOUR_REMBER_API_KEY
```

Create the key from Rember’s MCP API settings page. The documented key format starts with `rember_` and continues with 32 random characters. The key is passed directly in the process arguments; the provided setup instructions do not document an environment-variable configuration.

For Claude Desktop, add an `mcpServers` entry that launches the same `npx` command and includes the `--api-key` argument. Keep the credential private when storing or sharing the desktop configuration.

## Tools and capabilities

- `create_flashcards`: accepts notes from the assistant and asks Rember’s API to generate flashcards for each note.
- Creates cards from information discussed in chats.
- Supports requests based on content selected from PDFs, including a specified chapter.
- Works with natural-language prompts such as “help me remember this,” “create a few flashcards,” and “add to Rember.”

## Limitations and notes

The rember/rember-mcp MCP server documents only the `create_flashcards` tool. It does not describe tools for browsing existing cards, editing cards, viewing review schedules, or querying account data. The server also depends on a valid Rember API key and the availability of the Rember API.

It also mentions monthly limits and directs affected users toward Rember Pro information. Error handling, telemetry, and observability are identified as areas with room for further work, so operational diagnostics may be limited.

The documented primary client is Claude Desktop. The rember/rember-mcp MCP server is most appropriate when an assistant should turn current learning material into new Rember review content rather than manage an existing flashcard collection.
