## What PullPush Reddit MCP server does

PullPush Reddit MCP server gives an MCP-compatible assistant access to Reddit data indexed by PullPush.io. It supports two search operations: one for comments and another for posts, also called submissions. Both operations accept a query and can narrow results by subreddit, author, and time range.

The comment search is suited to finding discussions, replies, or statements made by a particular account. The submission search can target post titles or body text and can filter results using attributes such as score, comment count, NSFW status, video status, lock state, stickiness, and spoiler status.

## How it works

The server sends search requests to the PullPush.io Reddit API and returns matching records to the connected MCP client. PullPush.io provides historical Reddit data, so searches may include posts or comments that are no longer accessible through Reddit's official API. The service is described as free to use and does not require authentication.

`search_comments` accepts a query across comment fields, optional subreddit and author filters, `after` and `before` date boundaries, sort direction, a sort field of creation time or score, and a result count from 1 to 100. Dates can use Unix epoch values or relative forms such as `30d` and `1y`.

`search_submissions` offers the same general search controls, with additional title-only and body-only queries. It can sort by creation time, score, or comment count. Score and comment-count filters support greater-than, less-than, or exact comparisons. Its result count ranges from 1 to 100, with a default of 25; comment searches default to 100 results.

## Setup and configuration

Install the published package globally with npm, then register it as a stdio MCP server in the client configuration. A Claude Desktop configuration can launch it through `npx` using the package name. After changing the configuration, restart Claude Desktop.

A source installation is also available. Clone the repository, run `npm install`, and build it with `npm run build`. The resulting local JavaScript entry point can be launched with `node` and an absolute path in the MCP configuration.

For development, the repository includes build, type-check, and MCP Inspector commands. No API key or environment variable is specified in the provided setup instructions.
