## What Plus AI MCP server does

The Plus AI MCP server lets an AI agent request PowerPoint presentations from prompts. The resulting slides are native PowerPoint content, including editable text, tables, charts, and images rather than flattened screenshots. The service supports both new decks and revisions to an existing presentation.

The agent-based workflow handles the presentation structure, wording, visual design, and a review pass. It is suited to requests where the content and layout need more planning. A separate quick-generation tool uses templates and accepts a prompt, slide count, and language for faster output.

## How it works

Plus AI MCP server is hosted at `https://mcp.plusai.com/` and uses the streamable HTTP transport. No local server process is required. An MCP client sends a presentation request to the remote service, and the signed-in Plus AI account performs the work in its workspace.

The main agent workflow may continue after the initial tool call returns. The session tool can then check the run and retrieve its files once processing finishes. Agent-generated presentations include a PowerPoint file, PDF, and thumbnail. Quick template-based generation returns a PowerPoint file.

To revise an existing deck, upload it through the Plus AI API first and provide the resulting file ID to the presentation-agent tool. Example requests include pitch decks, board updates, classroom lessons, and quarterly business reviews. The requested language can be supplied for generated decks.

## Setup and configuration

Use a Plus AI Pro, Team, or Max plan. New customers can use a seven-day trial with 1,000 AI credits; a presentation generally consumes about 40–170 credits. Create an API key in the Plus AI account settings, then sign in through the MCP client when prompted. The client manages the key after authentication, so it is not pasted into the MCP configuration.

Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex also provide installation paths through their plugin or marketplace systems. Cline can use the server through its MCP configuration. On first use, Plus AI opens a Google or Microsoft sign-in flow.

## Limitations and notes

The service requires an eligible paid plan and available AI credits. Plus AI hosts the MCP server, and the repository runs no local presentation-generation code. Tool activity occurs as the user who authenticated, so workspace access and usage are tied to that account. The agent workflow can take a few minutes, while the session-check tool returns immediately with the current status.
