## Description
Render and push styled pixel art, text, dashboards, and animations to Divoom Pixoo LED displays.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **pixoo_display_text** — Render styled text with themes, gradients, shadows, and auto-fit, static or animated, and push it
- **pixoo_compose_scene** — Compose layered scenes of text, icons, widgets, shapes, bitmaps, images, and sprites, static or animated
- **pixoo_push_image** — Resize a local or https image to the LED grid and push it, an animated GIF or WebP as an animation
- **pixoo_render_html** — Render an HTML page (CSS, SVG, Canvas, WebGL) in a headless browser at the panel size, still or animated frame by frame on a virtual clock, and push it
- **pixoo_overlay_text** — Set or clear a device-rendered scrolling text overlay
- **pixoo_control_device** — Read or change brightness, screen state, channel, or clock face
- **pixoo_discover_devices** — Find Pixoo devices and their LAN IPs through Divoom's cloud discovery
- **pixoo_design_brief** — Craft guidance for a design topic, with live device state and pre-filled next calls

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

## Documentation

## What the pixoo-mcp-server MCP server does

The pixoo-mcp-server MCP server sends generated content to Divoom Pixoo LED matrix displays over a local network. Pixoo-64 is the primary target, with Pixoo-16 and Pixoo-32 also supported. Agents can create display-ready text, compose multi-layer scenes, resize and push image assets, manage device-native scrolling text, and read or change device settings.

The server also includes a design-brief tool that supplies pixel-display guidance and current device context. Its guidance covers legibility, palette use, layout zones, animation limits, themes, and icons. The repository documents four resources for device status, themes, icons, and the display design guide.

## How it works

Content is rendered before it is sent to the display. Text supports themes, palette ramps, gradients, shadows, outlines, alignment, semantic or pixel positions, and automatic fitting. Text can be static or animated with scrolling, floating, or pulsing effects. The renderer reports fitting decisions and returns the rendered result as an image.

Scene composition draws up to 50 elements back-to-front. Supported element types include text, icons, geometric shapes, progress indicators, sparklines, bitmaps, pixels, images, and sprites. Elements can use opacity, blending, gradients, themes, and animation presets or keyframes. Longer animations may be delivered as a GIF that the device downloads from the server host.

Image pushes accept an absolute local path or an HTTPS URL. Sources are resized to the LED grid and can use contain, cover, or fill fitting. Animated GIF and WebP sources are handled as animations, with frame and speed controls. Palette reduction can use a generated color set or a supplied palette, with optional dithering.

## Setup and configuration

The pixoo-mcp-server MCP server can run as a stdio process or as a local Streamable HTTP server. The README provides installation links for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code, including an npx-based configuration for supported clients. Pixoo devices need to be reachable on the local network.

Run device discovery during setup to obtain Pixoo device IP addresses. Discovery uses Divoom's cloud discovery endpoint, while display operations target the device on the local network. The device-control tool can read status without parameters and can change brightness, screen state, channel, or clock face.

## Tools and capabilities

- `pixoo_display_text` renders and pushes styled or animated text.
- `pixoo_compose_scene` builds layered static or animated scenes.
- `pixoo_push_image` resizes and pushes local or HTTPS image sources.
- `pixoo_overlay_text` sets or clears a device-rendered scrolling overlay.
- `pixoo_control_device` reads or changes supported device state.
- `pixoo_discover_devices` finds Pixoo devices and their LAN addresses.
- `pixoo_design_brief` returns design advice and live device context.

## Limitations and notes

Text fonts have defined character sets. Unsupported characters may be replaced or cause validation failure, depending on the selected font. A single line that remains wider than the panel can be cut off unless an applicable scrolling effect is used. Scene elements are placed as supplied and are not automatically refit to the panel.

HTTPS image downloads are capped at 10 MB. Invalid paths, undecodable assets, unknown icons, invalid colors, and invalid output paths produce typed errors. Animation settings have bounded frame and speed ranges, and device-native overlay text remains active across channel changes until it is cleared.
