## Description
Paraguay DNCP MCP — Paraguay government procurement / public contracts (keyless).

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **paraguay_search_tenders** — Search Paraguay government procurement processes (tenders/contracts) from the official DNCP Open Contracting (OCDS) API. Results are date-scoped: the API requires a date range, so if you omit date_from/date_to it defaults to roughly the last 30 days. Returns a paginated list of processes with ocid,…
- **paraguay_get_record** — Get the full Paraguay procurement record for a process from the official DNCP Open Contracting (OCDS) API. Pass the numeric process id (e.g. 291566) or the ocid (e.g. "ocds-03ad3f-291566-1"). Returns the compiled OCDS release: ocid, title, buyer, contract value + currency (PYG), status, procurement…

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "paraguay-dncp": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@pipeworx/mcp-paraguay-dncp"]
  }
}
## Documentation
## What Paraguay Dncp MCP server does
The Paraguay Dncp MCP server gives MCP-compatible agents access to Paraguay government procurement and public-contract records from the official Dirección Nacional de Contrataciones Públicas (DNCP) Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS) API. It provides two pack-specific tools:
- `paraguay_search_tenders` returns a paginated list of procurement processes.
- `paraguay_get_record` returns the compiled procurement record for one process.
Search results include identifiers such as the process ID and OCID, along with the title, buyer or convocante, procurement method, and dates. Full records add status, contract value and currency, tender items, key dates, and awards with suppliers and award amounts. Monetary values use PYG, and returned field values are in Spanish while object keys are in English.
## How it works
The Paraguay Dncp MCP server can be connected through the hosted Pipeworx MCP endpoint or run locally as an npm package over standard input and output. The hosted pack endpoint is `https://gateway.pipeworx.io/paraguay-dncp/mcp`; the full gateway is available separately at `https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp`. The pack endpoint also exposes shared Pipeworx meta-tools, while the standalone package exposes only the two Paraguay procurement tools.
Search requests require a date range at the source API. If `date_from` and `date_to` are omitted, the search defaults to approximately the previous 30 days. The API does not provide a free-text search parameter. Instead, the `query` value is applied as a case-insensitive filter over the current page of results, so it should not be treated as a complete database-wide text search.
To inspect a process in detail, pass either its numeric ID, such as `291566`, or its OCID, such as `ocds-03ad3f-291566-1`, to `paraguay_get_record`.
## Setup and configuration
For a hosted MCP connection, add the endpoint to an MCP client configuration:
```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "paraguay-dncp": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/paraguay-dncp/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```
The standalone option uses the published npm package and does not require a Pipeworx account:
```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "paraguay-dncp": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@pipeworx/mcp-paraguay-dncp"]
    }
  }
}
```
The package can also be started directly with `npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-paraguay-dncp`. No environment variables or API credentials are specified as required.
## Tools and capabilities
`paraguay_search_tenders` supports date-scoped procurement searches and returns paginated process summaries. Its output can be used to identify a process before requesting more detail.
`paraguay_get_record` retrieves the compiled OCDS release for a selected process. The response can include the buyer, title, status, procurement method, contract value and currency, important dates, items, and awarded suppliers.
The Paraguay Dncp MCP server is suitable for agents that need to answer questions about Paraguay procurement activity, examine individual public contracts, or compare process metadata. It is less suitable when the task depends on unrestricted full-text search across every historical record.
## Limitations and notes
The search API requires a date range, and its default period is only roughly the last 30 days. Query filtering occurs on the current result page, which can limit matches when relevant processes are outside that page. Detailed values, statuses, items, and awards are provided by the full-record tool rather than the search summary.
The gateway pack endpoint lists shared Pipeworx meta-tools in addition to the pack tools. Its exact tool scope can change and is reported by the MCP `initialize` response. The standalone connection does not include those gateway-wide tools or cross-catalog routing. The project is licensed under MIT.
