## Description
Trade Papertrade BTC and ETH perps from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and any MCP client.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **get_markets** — Live Papertrade perp markets (BTC, ETH): Hyperliquid mark/bid/ask, 24h change, Papertrade 24h volume, open interest vs caps, max leverage, minimum trade size and whether each market is open.
- **get_price_chart** — OHLCV candles for BTC or ETH from Hyperliquid (the price source Papertrade settles against), with range stats and a TradingView link.
- **get_protocol_stats** — Papertrade protocol analytics: TVL, margin, LP, lifetime volume, open positions, fees, PAPER supply and staking, plus daily history (volume, trader PnL, liquidations, users).
- **get_liquidation_map** — Where open Papertrade positions get liquidated: notional and position count of longs and shorts by price bucket around the current price, with the largest clusters.
- **get_leaderboard** — Papertrade trader leaderboard for a time window, sortable by PnL, volume, balance and more.
- **get_top_trades** — The most profitable individual Papertrade positions in a window: who, market, side, leverage, entry, exit and PnL.
- **get_recent_trades** — The latest opens, closes and liquidations across all of Papertrade, optionally filtered by market or wallet.
- **get_account** — A Papertrade account: free balance, locked margin, equity, every open position with live estimated PnL, bust price and distance to liquidation, pending intents, session keys and lifetime stats.
- **get_trade_history** — Closed and liquidated positions for a wallet, newest first, with entry, exit, settled PnL, fees and PAPER minted.
- **get_portfolio_history** — Equity curve for a wallet over 1h, 1d, 1w or all time.
- **calculate_position** — Pure math for a hypothetical position: bust price, liquidation distance and settled PnL at a target exit, using the exchange formula (win curve, deadband, 2% win fee).
- **get_deposit_info** — How to fund a Papertrade account: the wallet's personal deposit proxy address (USDC on HyperCore spot), minimums, the activation fee, and the wallet's current HyperEVM USDC/HYPE balances.
- **get_trading_permissions** — What this connection may do: connected wallet, whether a trading session is active and when it expires, the guardrails the owner set, and how much of the daily limit is used.
- **preview_trade** — Step 1 of 2 for opening a position.
- **open_position** — Step 2 of 2: opens a real Papertrade position with the user's funds, signed by the delegated session key.
- **close_positions** — Closes open positions at the market, signed by the session key.
- **cancel_intent** — Cancels a submitted intent that is still queued (not yet executed).
- **get_intent_status** — Whether a submitted intent is still queued, has produced an open position, or is no longer pending.

## Documentation

## What Papertrade AI does

Papertrade AI MCP server exposes Papertrade data and trading operations to MCP-compatible AI clients. Its read-only tools cover BTC and ETH perpetual markets, Hyperliquid-derived price data, protocol activity, trader rankings, recent transactions, account state, trade history, and portfolio performance.

The server also supports guarded trading. Users can preview a position, confirm it, and open it with their funds. Existing positions can be closed at market, while queued intents can be cancelled or checked for status. The available markets and account functions are specific to Papertrade; the material does not describe support for other exchanges or assets.

## How it works

The hosted endpoint uses Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1, so clients can connect with a URL rather than an API key. A wallet registers a delegated session key that can trade but cannot withdraw funds. Trading permissions include limits selected by the wallet owner, such as margin per trade, leverage, daily size, open positions, and permitted markets. The server reports whether a session is active, when it expires, and how much of the daily limit has been used.

Papertrade AI can also run locally over stdio through the npm package. In that mode, wallet credentials are stored under `~/.config/papertrade-ai` with file mode 0600. Public tools are available over MCP and plain HTTPS, and the project publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 description for its REST interface.

## Setup and configuration

For hosted use, add `https://papertrade-ai.ninabrekkerese.workers.dev/mcp` to an MCP client and complete OAuth. The README provides client-specific installation paths for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and other clients.

For local stdio use, configure the command `npx -y papertrade-ai`. Run `npx -y papertrade-ai login` once to connect a wallet in a browser. No API keys are required for the hosted connection. Funding information is available through `get_deposit_info`, including a personal deposit proxy address for USDC on HyperCore spot, minimums, activation fees, and current HyperEVM USDC/HYPE balances.

## Tools and capabilities

- Inspect live BTC and ETH market prices, spreads, volume, open interest, limits, leverage, minimum size, and market status.
- Retrieve Hyperliquid OHLCV charts, range statistics, and a TradingView link.
- Review protocol TVL, margin, liquidity-provider data, volume, fees, PAPER supply, staking, and daily activity.
- Analyze liquidation clusters, trader leaderboards, profitable positions, recent trades, account balances, and wallet history.
- Calculate hypothetical liquidation distance and settled PnL using the exchange formula.
- Preview and open positions, close positions, cancel queued intents, and check intent status.

## Limitations and notes

Trading tools use the connected wallet's funds and require a valid delegated session key. Opening a position is intentionally a two-step flow: `preview_trade` comes before `open_position`, and every trade requires user confirmation. The session key can trade but cannot withdraw.

Market settlement uses Hyperliquid price data. The listed trading scope is Papertrade BTC and ETH perpetuals, and the documentation does not establish support for additional markets. Read-only analytics can be accessed without the trading permissions required for execution. On clients with MCP Apps support, including Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, and Goose, results may render as interactive trading cards with live charts.
