## Description
Calculate API and subscription costs, meeting time zones, recurring schedules and cron matches.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "operatornest-tools": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["--yes","--package","/tmp/operatornest-mcp-tools-1.1.0.tgz","operatornest-mcp-tools"]
  }
}
## Documentation
## What OperatorNest tools does
OperatorNest tools MCP server exposes five calculation tools for cost analysis and scheduling. It can estimate AI API spending from token counts and model rates, calculate the cost of an AI subscription stack, find shared meeting windows, describe recurring schedules, and preview upcoming cron matches.
The results are intended for estimates and planning. They do not create calendar events, install schedules, run jobs, or execute other tasks. Each response includes normalized inputs, units, the calculation method, assumptions, dated source information, and a link for opening the result on OperatorNest.
## How it works
The hosted endpoint is available at `https://operatornest.com/mcp` over Streamable HTTP and does not require an API key. The repository also provides a stdio entry point, so an MCP client can launch `node dist/stdio.js` and exchange newline-delimited MCP messages over standard input and output. Logs are written to standard error rather than the protocol stream.
Calculations use bundled data and make no network calls. API pricing comes from a frozen snapshot containing 194 models, while subscription plans are defined in the repository with official source links. Time-zone and cron calculations use the runtime's IANA time-zone database.
## Setup and configuration
For hosted use, configure an MCP client with the HTTPS endpoint. The README documents setup for Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code. Claude Code can use `claude mcp add --transport http operatornest https://operatornest.com/mcp`, while Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code use their respective MCP configuration files.
For local development, install the frozen dependencies, build the project, and run the stdio entry point:
```sh
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm build
node dist/stdio.js
```
The package supports Node.js 22.19 or newer. A Worker implementation can also expose a local or remotely hosted `/mcp` endpoint. Its HTTP handler uses stateless JSON responses, limits request bodies to 32 KiB, rejects JSON-RPC batches, and supports optional Cloudflare rate limiting through an `MCP_LIMITER` binding.
## Tools and capabilities
- `ai_api_cost` calculates cost per request, day, and month from token counts and selected model rates.
- `meeting_time_zones` finds shared 30-minute slots between 09:00 and 17:00 for two to eight people.
- `recurring_schedule` calculates monthly hours, recurrence rules, and an RFC 5545 calendar.
- `ai_subscription_stack_cost` totals monthly and annual subscription costs while identifying overlapping capabilities.
- `cron_next_runs` returns one to ten matches after a UTC instant, limited to a 366-day window.
The OperatorNest tools MCP server supports numeric stars, lists, ranges, steps, and weekday names for GitHub, Cloudflare, Quartz, and AWS cron dialects. It rejects `L`, `W`, and `#` cron syntax as well as named months.
## Limitations and notes
API rates are frozen at the timestamp recorded in the pricing snapshot. Use the bundled `modelId` values; the broader OperatorNest catalog may contain models that this server does not accept. Null rates remain unlisted, non-token charges are excluded, and batch discounts require published data.
Subscription totals exclude taxes, regional differences, and promotions. Annual totals use a published annual price when available, otherwise twelve monthly charges. Recurring calendars use floating local times in the importing calendar. Meeting and cron output should be treated as estimates or previews rather than execution instructions.
