## Description
Manage ONES projects, issues, tests, work hours, and Wiki knowledge.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Remote MCP endpoint (confidence: high). Install path detected from listing signals. Add as a URL/SSE server in your client:

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "ones": {
    "url": "https://us.ones.com/mcp"
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What the ONES MCP server does

The ONES MCP server exposes ONES workspace operations to an MCP client. It is intended for authorized users who need an agent to inspect project data, work with issues, retrieve knowledge, or perform supported updates in ONES.

Supported areas include projects, issues, sprints, comments, test cases, work-hour records, and Wiki content. The server can retrieve Wiki pages and read supported attachments. It can also support issue and project management actions, but the exact operations and required fields depend on workspace configuration and the user's ONES permissions.

Use the server for tasks such as finding a project, listing assigned issues, reviewing an issue's comments and status, searching Wiki content, preparing an issue, or updating an existing issue after reviewing the proposed change. For ambiguous names or write operations, have the client show matching records and proposed values before approving an action.

## How it works

The ONES MCP server is hosted by ONES and accessed remotely over HTTP. The documented US endpoint is `https://us.ones.com/mcp`; other regional or private deployments may use a different URL configured by the workspace.

Authorization uses browser-based OAuth. The user signs in to ONES and grants access for the client connection. Tool results remain constrained by the authorized account's workspace access, permissions, and enabled ONES capabilities. A successful connection should be tested with a read-only request, such as listing accessible projects, and the client should show that an ONES tool actually ran.

The repository contains connection metadata and documentation rather than the hosted service's backend implementation. Running a local ONES service or cloning the repository is not required.

## Setup and configuration

Configure the ONES MCP server as a remote HTTP server in a client that supports MCP. In VS Code with GitHub Copilot and MCP enabled, use **MCP: Add Server**, choose **HTTP**, and enter the ONES endpoint. The connection can be saved in a project `.mcp.json` file or in the client's global configuration.

A project configuration uses an entry named `ones` with the endpoint URL:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ones": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://us.ones.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

After saving the configuration, start the server from **MCP: List Servers**, complete OAuth in the browser, and enable the available ONES tools in Copilot Chat's tool configuration. Do not store passwords, access tokens, or client secrets in committed configuration files. Configure the connection in one location to avoid duplicate entries.

## Tools and capabilities

The available tool set can include operations for:

- Finding and managing projects, issues, sprints, and comments.
- Working with test cases and work-hour records.
- Searching and retrieving authorized Wiki knowledge.
- Reading supported Wiki attachments.
- Preparing or carrying out supported issue creation and updates.

Before a write, confirm the target project, issue type, status, and other required fields. Review any approval request from the client, then verify the resulting record in ONES. A test project is appropriate when evaluating write operations.

## Limitations and notes

The ONES MCP server does not provide access beyond the connected user's permissions. Missing tools, denied operations, or incomplete results may reflect workspace settings, account permissions, or disabled ONES capabilities. Wiki searches only cover content the authorized account can access.

The listed endpoint serves the US deployment. Confirm the correct MCP endpoint for regional or private workspaces. Organization policies may also restrict use of remote MCP servers. Stopping or deleting the client connection does not revoke an existing OAuth grant; manage that authorization separately in ONES account settings.
