## Description
Unofficial read-only Okala: grocery stores that deliver to you, compare prices across stores.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **ok_locate** — Address text → coordinates (candidates) plus the street address of the best hit
- **ok_stores** — Stores that deliver to a point: type, rating, distance, first slot, service / packaging / delivery fee
- **ok_store** — One store: serves this point?, minimum order, location, every delivery slot with availability
- **ok_store_reviews** — Customer reviews of a store: stars, comment, liked / disliked reasons
- **ok_search** — Products for a query near a point or in one store: Okala's text search when logged in, matching categories as a guest; name matches first, then cheapest
- **ok_compare** — The same product across nearby stores, cheapest store first, with each store's fees
- **ok_store_products** — A whole category of one store, sorted, filtered by name (search inside one store)
- **ok_product** — One product in one store: price, discount, stock, max per order, brand, images
- **ok_categories** — Category tree with slugs, near a point or in one store
- **ok_brands** — Brand ids and slugs (featured brands, or lookup by slug)
- **ok_deals** — Deal rows running now near a point or in one store, with end time and top products
- **ok_offer** — One deal row in full, across stores or in one store, sorted and paged
- **ok_login** — Sends an SMS code to the user's phone; asks for the code in a form when the client supports it
- **ok_login_verify** — Finishes the login with the code the user typed in the chat
- **ok_account** — Logged in or guest, and as which phone (masked)
- **ok_logout** — Deletes the saved login; the server continues as a guest

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `uvx` (confidence: high):

```json
  "okala": {
    "command": "uvx",
    "args": ["okala-mcp"]
  }
}
## What Okala MCP server does
Okala MCP server gives an AI agent read-only access to grocery information from Okala, an Iranian online supermarket where supermarkets, bakeries, and fruit shops deliver to customer addresses. It is useful for checking which stores serve a location, comparing the same product between nearby stores, reviewing delivery costs, and finding current deals.
The workflow starts with an address lookup. `ok_locate` returns coordinate candidates and the best matching street address. Those coordinates can then be passed to store, product, category, brand, comparison, and deal tools. Results use prices in Toman, with ratings expressed on a 0–5 scale. Queries generally work best in Persian.
The server belongs in the E-Commerce category for shopping research and availability checks. It does not provide cart, checkout, ordering, or review-posting operations. The review tool only reads customer reviews.
## How it works
The server runs locally and communicates with an AI client over MCP using stdio. It then makes HTTPS requests to `apigateway.okala.com`, the public JSON API used by Okala’s website. No hosted intermediary or API key is required. The delivery location supplied for a query is sent to Okala so the service can determine nearby stores and availability.
A typical sequence is `ok_locate`, followed by either `ok_stores` and `ok_store_products` for store browsing or `ok_search` and `ok_compare` for product research. Store results can include type, rating, distance, first delivery slot, service fee, packaging fee, and delivery fee. Product results can include price, discount, stock, purchase limit, brand, and images.
## Setup and configuration
Install `uv` and run the package as a standard stdio MCP server:
```bash
uvx okala-mcp
```
It can also be installed with `pip install okala-mcp` and started with `okala-mcp`. Claude Code uses `claude mcp add okala -- uvx okala-mcp`. Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code can be configured with the same `uvx` command and `okala-mcp` argument.
Authentication is not required for guest access. An optional SMS login uses `ok_login` followed by `ok_login_verify`; the login unlocks Okala’s own text search in `ok_search`. `OKALA_MCP_PROXY` configures an HTTP proxy, while `OKALA_MCP_TOKEN` can provide an access token instead of the saved login. Ask the user before invoking login or logout because those tools send an SMS or alter saved authentication state.
## Tools and capabilities
The Okala MCP server exposes tools for:
- Resolving addresses and listing stores that deliver to a point.
- Inspecting one store’s coverage, minimum order, location, and delivery-slot availability.
- Reading customer reviews without posting new reviews.
- Searching products, browsing store categories, and looking up brands.
- Comparing a product across stores, with the cheapest store first and fees included.
- Inspecting individual product details, current deal rows, and full offers.
- Checking whether the account is logged in, logging in by SMS, and removing the saved login.
`ok_search` uses Okala’s text search after login; as a guest, it matches relevant categories instead. The server continues operating as a guest after logout.
## Limitations and notes
Okala MCP server is unofficial and read-only for shopping operations. It cannot add items to a cart, place an order, complete checkout, or post reviews. Delivery coverage is limited to Okala’s supported areas, including Tehran and some other major cities, so results may be empty elsewhere. Prices, stock, deals, and delivery slots can change. Every location-based tool requires latitude and longitude, normally obtained from `ok_locate`.
