## Documentation

## What Oh My Share does

The Oh My Share MCP server lets AI agents publish HTML or code to openanthropic.com without implementing the site’s upload API directly. An upload produces a view URL, an asset ID, and an edit token. The resulting page can be opened in a browser, making the service suitable for sharing generated demos, reports, prototypes, or code snippets.

The hosted service supports anonymous basic flows and does not require an API key. Uploads can include an optional language, filename, password, and expiration period. Supported expiration values are 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days, with 7 days as the default.

## How it works

Configure an MCP client with the streamable HTTP endpoint at `https://openanthropic.com/mcp`. The agent sends tool calls to the remote service rather than running a local process. Requests are rate-limited per IP, and OAuth metadata is advertised for clients that prefer it, although the basic anonymous flow does not require authentication.

The Oh My Share MCP server exposes six operations:

- `upload` accepts HTML or code and returns the share URL, ID, and edit token.
- `list_assets` returns assets uploaded during the current session.
- `view` fetches shared content by ID.
- `delete` removes an asset owned by the caller.
- `get_info` returns service name, version, and endpoint information.
- `search_gallery` searches the public gallery by title, description, tags, or ID.

Gallery searches accept a query and can be sorted by newest or popular results. Pagination is supported, with a maximum limit of 20 results per request.

## Setup and configuration

For Claude Code, add the hosted endpoint with:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http oh-my-share https://openanthropic.com/mcp
```

Clients that read `mcp.json`, including Cursor and VS Code, can use this configuration:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "oh-my-share": { "url": "https://openanthropic.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

The repository also supports self-hosting. The documented deployment requires Node.js 18 or newer, a Cloudflare account with Workers, D1, and R2, plus Wrangler. Setup includes creating a D1 database and R2 bucket, applying migrations, then running the project locally or deploying it. The production custom-domain route in `wrangler.jsonc` may need to be removed or changed for a personal deployment.

## Limitations and notes

The hosted MCP endpoint is remote, so client requests depend on service availability and its IP-based rate limits. The MCP interface does not expose an encryption option in the documented `upload` arguments, even though the broader web service supports optional browser-side encryption. Deletion is limited to assets owned by the caller, while gallery search covers public published works.

The Oh My Share MCP server is distributed under the MIT license. The repository includes a daily cron for an optional stats snapshot and IndexNow job, but that scheduled task is not required for the core MCP workflow.
