## What Mind the Product MCP server does

The Mind the Product MCP server gives AI clients read-only access to 15 years of product-management material from Mind the Product. Its content collection includes more than 1,500 articles, talks, and guides. The endpoint also covers Mind the Product conferences, workshops, ProductTank meetups, and the live product job board.

The content search combines semantic matching with keyword search. An agent can find relevant writing, retrieve a complete article with its author, publication date, and categories, browse recent posts by topic, or request related reading based on vector similarity. Separate searches cover events and current job listings.

Article results expose MCP resource links using the `mtp://article/{slug}` pattern. Clients can read the linked article resource directly instead of making another tool call or inferring a slug.

## How it works

The service is hosted at `https://www.mindtheproduct.com/api/mcp/` and uses Streamable HTTP. The six available tools are `search_mtp_content`, `get_article`, `list_recent`, `get_related`, `search_events`, and `search_jobs`. The four content tools return structured output matching their schemas, which allows clients to parse fields rather than scrape rendered text.

All tools are read-only. The server can search and return information, but it cannot publish, comment, or modify a user account. The protocol revision listed by the project is `2026-07-28`. Developers can consult the linked reference documentation for schemas, OAuth flow, resources, errors, and rate limits.

## Setup and configuration

To connect the Mind the Product MCP server, configure the hosted URL in an MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP. Claude Code can add it with `claude mcp add --transport http mind-the-product https://www.mindtheproduct.com/api/mcp/`. Cursor and VS Code can use an HTTP MCP configuration, while Codex can define the server URL in `~/.codex/config.toml`. Other clients can use a standard `mcpServers` JSON entry.

Claude and ChatGPT can add the endpoint through their custom connector settings. A one-click installation option is also provided on the Mind the Product MCP page.

The first use opens a browser sign-in flow for a Mind the Product account. Account creation is free according to the project documentation, and no API key is required. There are no server environment variables described for this hosted setup.
