## Description
Create and manage Linkonda short links and QR codes, with no per-visitor tracking.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **shorten_link** — Shorten one URL
- **shorten_links_bulk** — Shorten up to 100 URLs in one request
- **list_links** — List your links with destinations and click counts
- **update_link** — Change a destination, or pause/resume a link
- **delete_link** — Permanently delete a link
- **get_link_stats** — Total redirect count for a link
- **check_quota** — Links live vs. plan allowance

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "nanolink-mcp": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@veranoapp/linkonda-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "LINKONDA_API_KEY": "",
      "LINKONDA_API_BASE_URL": ""
    }
  }
}
```

**Requires environment variables:** `LINKONDA_API_KEY`, `LINKONDA_API_BASE_URL` — the values above are empty placeholders; fill in real credentials before running (see the repository for what each one is for).

## Documentation

## What mahmoudhalimeh/NanoLink-MCP MCP server does

mahmoudhalimeh/NanoLink-MCP MCP server exposes Linkonda’s short-link operations through MCP. It can create short links, manage links saved to an authenticated account, and return aggregate redirect totals. Linkonda also supports QR codes, although the listed MCP tools focus on link creation and management rather than a separate QR-code operation.

The service records one total redirect count per link. It does not collect IP addresses, geographic location, device information, or referrers. This makes it suitable for workflows that need basic redirect totals but do not need visitor attribution or audience breakdowns.

## How it works

The package communicates with Linkonda over MCP using standard input and output. An MCP client invokes a tool, and the server sends the corresponding request to the Linkonda API. The default API endpoint is `https://api.linkonda.com`, with an environment variable available for pointing to another instance.

Without credentials, `shorten_link`, `get_link_stats`, and `check_quota` are available. Anonymous shortening allows up to 10 links per network, and those links expire after 30 days. Adding a bearer key enables persistent account links and the account-management tools. Bearer authentication requires a paid Linkonda plan.

Bulk shortening accepts up to 100 URLs. Results can be partially successful: invalid URLs or quota limits may prevent individual entries from being created while other entries succeed, and the tool reports both outcomes.

## Setup and configuration

Add the server to an MCP client configuration with `npx`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "linkonda": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@veranoapp/linkonda-mcp"]
    }
  }
}
```

For persistent, account-managed links, add `LINKONDA_API_KEY` under the same entry’s `env` object. Create the key in the Linkonda dashboard under **API keys**; the key is displayed once. `LINKONDA_API_BASE_URL` defaults to the public Linkonda API and can override that endpoint.

The documented configuration locations include `claude_desktop_config.json` for Claude Desktop and `.mcp.json` for Claude Code. Local development uses `npm install`, `npm run build`, and `npm start`; the server speaks MCP over stdio. `npm run typecheck` runs the compiler without producing output.

## Tools and capabilities

The mahmoudhalimeh/NanoLink-MCP MCP server provides these tools:

- `shorten_link` creates a short link from one URL and does not require a key.
- `shorten_links_bulk` processes up to 100 URLs and requires a key.
- `list_links` returns account links, their destinations, and click counts; a key is required.
- `update_link` changes a destination or pauses and resumes a link; a key is required.
- `delete_link` permanently removes a link and requires a key.
- `get_link_stats` returns the total redirect count and works without a key.
- `check_quota` reports live links against the applicable allowance and works without a key.

## Limitations and notes

The mahmoudhalimeh/NanoLink-MCP MCP server does not provide geographic, device, referrer, IP-address, or other per-visitor analytics because Linkonda does not collect that data. Workflows requiring click attribution should use a tracking shortener instead.

Anonymous operation is limited: management tools are unavailable without authentication, anonymous links expire after 30 days, and anonymous creation is capped at 10 links per network. Account-based persistence and management depend on a valid key and the applicable Linkonda plan.
