## What MarkuprPlus MCP server does

MarkuprPlus MCP server connects an MCP client to a Windows or macOS desktop for visual feedback workflows. It can capture the current screen, include cursor and active-window context, record screen activity with microphone input, and return structured analysis. The server is suited to reviewing an application while it is running rather than describing a problem from text alone.

The output can represent individual findings with screenshots and report content. MarkuprPlus also supports turning a report into issues in GitHub or Linear, making it useful when visual review needs to become tracked development work.

## How it works

A client can request a one-off screenshot or ask for a description of what is currently visible. For a longer review, `start_recording` begins an interactive session and `stop_recording` ends it and runs the full processing pipeline. `capture_with_voice` provides a recording flow for a specified duration and returns a structured report.

Existing recordings do not need to come from an active MCP session. `analyze_video` accepts `.mov` and `.mp4` files and produces Markdown with extracted frames. `analyze_screenshot` sends one image through the analysis pipeline. The desktop application can also transcribe narration locally with Whisper after recording, according to the project documentation.

The project documentation states that the desktop capture flow excludes its picker, drawing canvas, and recording HUD from the captured video, while recording the selected application and intended annotations. MarkuprPlus MCP server should therefore be evaluated with the target desktop permissions and privacy requirements in mind before capturing sensitive screens or microphone audio.
