## Description
Malaysian company search by name and SSM number, linked to court cases and their parties.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **Malaysia_search_companies** — Search Malaysian companies. Filters are combined with AND logic; include at least one.
- **Malaysia_get_company** — Profile by registration number: the 12-digit SSM number (e.g. `199001009294`), the old number (e.g. `200866-W`) or a Labuan number (e.g. `LL00002`).
- **Malaysia_list_cases** — Search Malaysian court cases, newest decision first.
- **Malaysia_get_case** — One case by id with every party (name, role, linked company id) and the documents in the appeal record.

## Documentation

## What Malaysia Company Registry & Court Cases does

Malaysia Company Registry & Court Cases MCP server exposes Malaysian company and court data through The Company Atlas. The available dataset covers about 1.7 million companies, limited liability partnerships, and Labuan entities. Company records can be searched by registered name, SSM registration number, former registration number, entity type, and registration year.

The court dataset contains about 26,000 Malaysian cases spanning the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. Case information includes parties, roles, judges, and keywords. Company parties are linked to registration identifiers, allowing a company profile to show related cases.

This fits the Legal category for workflows such as entity research, litigation screening, and locating cases by party or court. It is also suitable for prompts that combine a company search with a review of its court involvement.

## How it works

The connection endpoint is `https://thecompanyatlas.com/mcp/malaysia`. It uses Streamable HTTP and Google OAuth. Add the endpoint as a custom MCP connector in a compatible client and complete the Google sign-in prompt. The repository does not operate a separate server; The Company Atlas supplies the MCP connection.

Company search filters use AND logic, so at least one filter must be supplied. Results are paginated, with up to 50 companies per request. Case results are ordered with the newest decision first and support pagination of up to 100 records per request.

## Setup and configuration

In Claude, open the custom connector settings, choose **Add custom connector**, provide a connector name, and paste the Malaysia endpoint. Save the connector and authenticate with Google when prompted. The same endpoint can be added to Cursor or another MCP-compatible client that supports Streamable HTTP and the required OAuth flow.

No environment variables or local process configuration are documented for this connection. The relevant setup values are the remote MCP URL and Google authentication.

## Tools and capabilities

The Malaysia Company Registry & Court Cases MCP server provides four tools:

- `Malaysia_search_companies` searches by name substring, entity type, active flag, and registration-year range. Results include pagination data and identifiers for the current and old registration numbers.
- `Malaysia_get_company` retrieves a profile using a 12-digit SSM number, an old registration number, or a Labuan number. Where recorded, it returns an address, former names, the number of court cases, and up to 20 recent cases with the company’s role.
- `Malaysia_list_cases` filters cases by case-number substring, court category, court, judge, keyword, party name, linked company ID, and decision year.
- `Malaysia_get_case` retrieves one case by ID, including every party’s name and role, linked company IDs, and documents in the appeal record.

## Limitations and notes

Registry coverage is uneven. Only about 20,000 entities have recorded status and address information, mostly in Labuan. For many other entities, expect basic identity fields such as name, registration numbers, entity type, and registration year rather than a complete profile.

The Malaysia Company Registry & Court Cases MCP server requires access through The Company Atlas connection and Google OAuth. The documented material does not describe a local installation, API key, or environment-variable setup. Case and company results are subject to the available registry and court datasets, so missing details should not be treated as evidence that an entity or case does not exist.
