## Documentation

## What hypurrquant/perp-cli does

The hypurrquant/perp-cli MCP server gives agents access to perpetual futures operations across multiple venues and chains. Supported trading venues include Pacifica on Solana, Hyperliquid on HyperEVM, Lighter on Ethereum, Aster on BNB Chain, Lighter RH on Robinhood chain, Ondo Perps, Arcus, and QFEX. Other venues provide market data only in the documented release, including RISEx, TxFlow, Variational, GRVT, and Extended. Derive contributes read-only options data.

This makes the project relevant to the Finance & Fintech category for agents that need a consolidated view of derivatives markets. The toolset covers market inspection, account state, funding conditions, execution, and comparisons between venues rather than focusing on a single exchange.

## How it works

The CLI presents structured output for agent use. JSON output, field selection, newline-delimited JSON, dry-run execution, and runtime schema inspection are available for automation. A single portfolio request can combine balances, positions, and risk information across exchanges.

Trading support varies by venue. Some exchanges support public and user WebSocket streams, while others expose only request-based market data. Funding-rate scans distinguish verified funding data from display-only rates; unverified venues are not ranked or traded by funding strategies. The project also supports funding arbitrage scans covering perp-perp and spot-perp opportunities, with dual-leg execution where the venue capabilities allow it.

## Setup and configuration

Install the CLI globally with npm or invoke it through npx. Wallet keys are imported into an encrypted OWS vault and are read from a hidden prompt or standard input rather than command-line arguments. One EVM key can serve Hyperliquid and Lighter. Lighter trading additionally requires agent approval, while Lighter RH, Ondo Perps, and Arcus use venue-specific agent or API-key registration.

The interactive setup wizard can select wallets, networks, venues, a default venue, and slippage settings. A non-interactive setup mode supports scripted configuration and can target testnet. The `LIGHTER_API_KEY_INDEX` setting changes Lighter's managed API-key slot; the documented default is index 4.

## Tools and capabilities

The hypurrquant/perp-cli MCP server supports capabilities including:

- Market data and cross-exchange comparisons
- Perpetual trading with pre-trade validation and dry-run checks
- Portfolio balances, positions, and risk information
- Funding-rate arbitrage discovery and supported dual-leg execution
- Deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bridging, and inter-exchange rebalancing where supported
- TWAP, grid, DCA, and trailing-stop background jobs
- Spot and options data on venues that expose those markets

Execution safety includes response sanitization and client-ID deduplication. Native TWAP is available on some venues, while others use client-side slicing. Venue-specific restrictions determine which operations are available.

## Limitations and notes

Capabilities are not uniform across venues. Several integrations are read-only, market-data-only, or dependent on later releases for trading. QFEX has restrictions on resting reduce-only orders and automation. Some deposit and withdrawal actions remain web-app-only, and funding rates marked unverified are shown only when explicitly requested.

The support matrix describes implemented functionality, not proof that an operation has been completed with real funds. WebSocket book and trade channels are not available according to the documentation, and some user-channel or stream support has known gaps. Credentials and agent approvals must be configured separately for venues that do not support direct wallet import.
