## What hermoso-ai/hermoso does

hermoso-ai/hermoso provides MCP tools for marketing work across four independent areas: research, creative generation, publishing and scheduling, and advertising operations. It can produce image and video ads with copy, calls to action, voiceover, music, product imagery, and a branded end card. It also supports UGC avatar ads and lets agents work with creative that was created elsewhere.

Research tools cover the Meta, Google, and LinkedIn ad libraries, along with organic content from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, and Reddit. The service can publish and schedule content to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram, and Google Business Profile. Paid advertising connections include Meta, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Reddit Ads, X Ads, Pinterest Ads, Snapchat Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Apple Search Ads, ChatGPT Ads, AppLovin Ads, and Google Merchant Center product feeds.

## How it works

An agent can use Hermoso through a local CLI-backed MCP process or the hosted MCP endpoint at `https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp`. The CLI exposes the tool registry on demand, so an agent can search tool names, inspect a tool schema, and invoke a selected tool. The MCP surface can also be added to an agent for native structured tool calls.

Research, generation, publishing, and campaign management do not depend on one another. An agent can research competitors without a connected brand, generate a file without connecting a channel, publish an existing file, or manage campaigns using its own ad accounts. `upload_file` converts a local or external file into a URL accepted by publishing, scheduling, and ad-building tools.

## Setup and configuration

The local server can be started with:

Authenticate once with `npx -y hermoso auth login`; the command opens a browser for sign-in. A key created under the account’s MCP & CLI settings can be supplied with `npx -y hermoso auth login --token <key>` when browser access is unavailable. For repeated use on a server or in CI, the package can be installed globally with `npm i -g hermoso`.

The hosted option requires no local process. Add `https://app.hermoso.ai/mcp` as a custom connector in a compatible browser-based client and sign in to the Hermoso account. The repository also provides install paths for Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and other agent environments through their plugin or skills mechanisms.

## Tools and capabilities

The live tool set is authoritative through `tools/list`; the package describes the available registry without requiring sign-in. The `hermoso_capabilities` tool returns the live model catalog, render credit costs, and capability map. The service includes tools for:

- Generating image, video, voice, text, planning, and post-production assets
- Researching competitor ads and organic social content
- Publishing and scheduling content across eleven social channels
- Building and managing paid campaigns
- Reading post, campaign, and connected-platform analytics
- Working with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and OneDrive
- Handling comments, direct messages, and supported DM automations

## Limitations and notes

Model runs and Ad Spy research consume credits. Publishing, scheduling, campaign management, analytics, comments and DMs, connectors, profiles, and team seats are free on every plan, while X usage also consumes credits because its API charges per request. Posting an already-rendered ad does not create a second rendering charge.

The available tools can change, so agents should treat `tools/list` as the source of truth. The MCP manifest can add context to every session; the CLI is useful when an agent needs to search or invoke the broader registry on demand. An account and authentication are required for calls that reach Hermoso services.
