## What the HasData Booking.com MCP server does

HasData Booking.com MCP server exposes two read-only tools for querying public Booking.com pages. The search tool finds stays for a destination or named property using check-in and check-out dates, room and guest counts, and optional filters. Results include hotel identifiers, titles, Booking.com URLs, location data, policies, prices, ratings, reviews, room information, and photos.

The property details tool reads a single Booking.com property using its URL and booking parameters. It can return the property's identity, address, coordinates, policies, price, rating and review summary, photos, facilities, house rules, room options, and category ratings where available. The source is limited to information visible to signed-out visitors on public property pages.

## How it works

The hosted endpoint uses streamable HTTP:

Clients authenticate with the `x-api-key` header. An MCP-compatible client can call the search tool to create a shortlist, then pass a selected Booking.com URL to the details tool. Dates and guest counts are needed for both search and property-detail requests because availability and pricing depend on the booking window.

Each successful tool call costs 10 credits. The documented free tier provides 1,000 credits per month without requiring a card, equivalent to 100 calls at that rate. Search results are paginated, with about 25 results per page, and the response includes pagination information.

## Setup and configuration

Create a HasData API key from the HasData dashboard, then configure the remote MCP URL and `x-api-key` header in the client. Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code can connect directly over HTTP. Windsurf uses `serverUrl` rather than `url` in its configuration.

Claude Code can be added with an HTTP transport configuration. Claude Desktop's connector flow can use the remote URL directly; its local configuration-file route requires the `@hasdata/booking-mcp` npm launcher or the `hasdata-booking-mcp` PyPI launcher. Both launchers read the key from `HASDATA_API_KEY`.

## Tools and capabilities

- Search filters can cover sorting, property type, star rating, review score, facilities, room facilities, reservation policy, and total-stay price range.
- `hasdata_booking_place_getBookingPlaceDetails` retrieves fuller information for one property.
- Search output includes hotel identity, location, policies, price, rating, reviews, room and bed information, and a photo.
- Property data can include cancellation and prepayment policies, child and pet rules, facilities, house rules, room choices, and category ratings.

## Limitations and notes

The tools are read-only: they search and retrieve information but do not book accommodation or modify Booking.com data. Prices and availability can change, so returned values represent the response at call time. HasData Booking.com MCP server reads public pages visible to signed-out visitors and does not provide authenticated or private Booking.com content.

A direct MCP response contains a text block whose contents are JSON with fields such as `url`, `status`, `text`, and `json`; code consuming the endpoint directly must parse that nested structure. A chat client generally handles this unwrapping. Credit usage applies to each successful call, so comparing multiple destinations or requesting several property pages uses multiple calls.
