## Description
Airbnb stays by location and dates, and full listing details, as structured JSON.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **hasdata_airbnb_listing_getAirbnbListings** — Listing id and url, title, description, coordinates, photos, rating and review count, badges, and a price object holding the stay total, the nightly figure as text and a discounted price when Airbnb shows one. 10 credits a call
- **hasdata_airbnb_property_getAirbnbPropertyDetails** — Title, an overview carrying the guest, bedroom, bed and bath counts as text, description, address and coordinates, rating and review count, photos, guest capacity, host profile, amenities with an availability flag each, and safety and property notes. No price. 10 credits a call

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "hasdata-airbnb": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","@hasdata/airbnb-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "HASDATA_API_KEY": ""
    }
  }
}
```

**Requires environment variables:** `HASDATA_API_KEY` — the values above are empty placeholders; fill in real credentials before running (see the repository for what each one is for).

## Documentation

## What HasData Airbnb MCP server does

The HasData Airbnb MCP server exposes two read-only MCP tools for working with publicly visible Airbnb listings. The search tool accepts a place name or a complete map bounding box, along with a required check-in date and optional check-out date and guest counts. It returns result properties with identifiers, URLs, titles, coordinates, photos, ratings, review counts, badges, and pricing information.

The second tool reads one listing from its URL. It returns the title, description, address and coordinates, ratings, photos, guest capacity, host profile, amenities with availability indicators, and safety or property notes. Its overview includes guest, bedroom, bed, and bath counts as text. This property tool does not return price data.

Both tools return structured JSON through MCP and are intended for read operations rather than booking, editing, or other account actions.

## How it works

Requests go to the hosted endpoint `https://mcp.hasdata.com/mcp?apis=airbnb` using streamable HTTP. The client sends the HasData API key in the `x-api-key` header. The service reads Airbnb pages that are visible to signed-out visitors, so an Airbnb developer account or partner approval is not part of the documented setup.

For a typical workflow, an agent first searches by location and dates, then passes a selected result URL to the property-details tool. Search responses include pagination data, including a next-page token, for walking through additional results. A map search requires all four bounding-box values: northeast latitude and longitude plus southwest latitude and longitude.

A direct MCP response contains a text block whose contents are JSON. Code consuming the endpoint directly may need to parse `result.content[0].text` and then read the nested `json` field; chat clients generally handle this unwrapping.

## Setup and configuration

Create a HasData API key from the HasData dashboard and configure an MCP client with the remote URL and `x-api-key` header. The README identifies Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code setup paths.

Claude Code can add the endpoint with an HTTP transport command. Cursor uses a remote server entry with `url` and `headers`; Windsurf uses the equivalent `serverUrl` field; VS Code defines an HTTP server in `.vscode/mcp.json`. Clients with OAuth support can add the URL as a connector and sign in instead of placing the key in a configuration file.

Claude Desktop’s connector path accepts the remote URL directly. Its local configuration path uses the `@hasdata/airbnb-mcp` npm launcher with `HASDATA_API_KEY`, or the `hasdata-airbnb-mcp` Python package through `uvx`. These launchers provide a stdio bridge to the hosted server; they do not require running a container.

## Tools and capabilities

- `hasdata_airbnb_listing_getAirbnbListings` searches by location or map area and dates. Inputs include check-in, optional check-out, guest counts, and pagination tokens. Each call costs 5 credits according to the tool listing.
- `hasdata_airbnb_property_getAirbnbPropertyDetails` retrieves full details for a listing URL, including amenities, host information, capacity, and property notes. It does not include price. Each call costs 5 credits according to the tool listing.
- Search results include a price object with the stay total, a text representation of the nightly figure, and a discounted price when Airbnb shows one.

## Limitations and notes

The HasData Airbnb MCP server is read-only and relies on information visible on public, signed-out Airbnb pages. Returned values such as availability, ratings, prices, photos, and listing content can change as Airbnb updates its pages. Search provides a lighter result suitable for shortlisting; additional property calls are needed for amenities, host details, and the full property information.

The README describes a monthly free allowance of 1,000 credits and also states that the free tier covers about 200 calls at the 5-credit rate. The same README’s example annotations and some tool-table text mention 10 credits per call, while the supplied tool definitions specify 5 credits. Confirm the current credit rate and allowance in HasData’s account or API documentation before planning usage.

The service searches Airbnb content but does not provide booking or account-management operations. A client must support remote streamable HTTP directly or use one of the documented launcher paths.
