Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **get_god_prompt** — Returns the complete GodPrompt.md — a single-file universal system prompt for AI software development (47KB, ~1145 lines). Use this when you want the full payload in one shot. For progressive disclosure (smaller context), use get_core_skill and the reference tools instead.
- **get_core_skill** — Returns SKILL.md — the lean core protocol (~16KB) covering the universal 6-phase protocol, Three Iron Laws, and task auto-classification. Load it at the start of a task or after a context reset, then reuse that context instead of reloading it on every message. Start here for progressive disclosure.

- **get_version** — Returns JSON with the GodPrompt content version, MCP server version, repository, bundled file sizes and purposes, and task-type/protocol catalog. Use it to verify which GodPrompt content/server version a client is connected to; use the content retrieval tools when you need the actual workflow text.

## What GodPrompt MCP Server does

GodPrompt MCP Server MCP server makes the GodPrompt workflow package available to MCP-compatible agents. The package covers task routing, test-driven development, debugging, verification gates, anti-pattern recovery, and progressive disclosure. It is intended for software-development tasks where an agent benefits from explicit execution guidance and checks before declaring work complete.

The server exposes seven read-only tools. Five return documented guidance files, one classifies tasks, and one reports version and server metadata. It does not modify repositories, execute tests, or run the benchmark associated with the source GodPrompt project.

## How it works

The server supports two delivery modes. A local installation runs as a stdio process through the public npm package. A hosted deployment is available at `https://god-prompt-mcp.tomi-seregi99.workers.dev/mcp` using Streamable HTTP. Both modes expose the same seven tools and require no API key.

GodPrompt MCP Server MCP server supports progressive disclosure so an agent can start with the smaller core protocol and retrieve deeper material only when needed. `get_core_skill` provides the always-on protocol. `get_protocols`, `get_gates`, and `get_anti_patterns` supply focused reference content. `get_god_prompt` returns the complete single-file package when all guidance is appropriate.

The task classifier routes an input to one of nine GodPrompt task types, or returns `UNCLASSIFIED` when the available signal is insufficient for a reliable result. The server also advertises the GodPrompt Agent Skill through the MCP skills extension for clients that implement that extension.

## Setup and configuration

For a local stdio installation, run:

The local package requires Node.js 22 or newer.

For remote use, configure an MCP client with the Streamable HTTP endpoint and select no authentication. The hosted option avoids a local Node.js runtime. ChatGPT web can connect to the hosted endpoint as a custom MCP app in supported Business and Enterprise/Edu workspaces when Developer Mode and the relevant workspace controls are available.

The repository can also be installed through the supported Kiro and Visual Studio Code plugin or MCP installation paths. Those local paths ultimately launch the npm package through `npx`.

## Limitations and notes

GodPrompt MCP Server MCP server distributes workflow content; it does not claim model-level superiority or execute the GodPrompt benchmark.

The tools are read-only. Client support for the Agent Skills extension is not universal; clients without that extension can continue using the seven MCP tools. The hosted endpoint and local package provide the same listed tool set, but remote connections depend on a client that supports remote MCP servers.
