## Description
Check link previews (Open Graph, Twitter cards) on X, LinkedIn, Slack; OG images per page.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **check_link_preview** — Scores how a page looks when shared on X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp and Slack, and lists the og: and twitter: tags to fix.
- **check_site_previews** — Checks up to 50 pages from the sitemap: which have no image, share one image, or are broken. Call again with `check_id` until it's done.
- **create_previews** — Creates branded Open Graph image designs for a site with AI and returns a link where the person picks one, tweaks it and publishes. Needs a getwowlink account (the client asks the person to sign in).
- **wait_for_design** — Waits until the person has picked and published a design, then says what to install.
- **get_install_instructions** — The og:image and twitter:image tags for every page, with the image URL pattern for this site.
- **verify_install** — Checks live pages: exactly one og:image, served by getwowlink, and whether crawlers already fetch the images.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Remote MCP endpoint (confidence: high). Install path detected from listing signals. Add as a URL/SSE server in your client:

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "getwowlink": {
    "url": "https://mcp.getwowlink.com"
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What getwowlink MCP server does

The getwowlink MCP server gives coding agents tools for inspecting and improving social sharing metadata. A single-page check evaluates how a URL is likely to appear across X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp, and Slack. It also returns the page's Open Graph and Twitter card tags so an agent can identify metadata that needs changing.

For broader audits, the server can read a sitemap and inspect up to 50 pages. The site check groups pages by image status, including pages with no image, pages that reuse one image, and pages with broken images. The result includes a report link on getwowlink.com.

The getwowlink MCP server also supports an optional branded-image workflow. It can generate Open Graph design options based on a site's colors and logo, then provide a link where a person selects, edits, and publishes a design. This workflow is separate from basic preview checking and requires a free getwowlink account.

## How it works

The service is available over Streamable HTTP at `https://mcp.getwowlink.com`. An MCP client connects to that endpoint and invokes the available tools. A site-wide preview check may take time to finish: call `check_site_previews` again with the returned `check_id` until processing is complete.

Design creation is interactive. After `create_previews` returns a selection link, a person signs in through the client if needed, chooses and publishes a design, and then `wait_for_design` reports what should be installed. The server can subsequently return page-level metadata and the image URL pattern, then inspect live pages to verify the installation.

Each tool result links to a visual report. Usage is limited to 30 page checks per 10 minutes and five site checks per hour for each client.

## Setup and configuration

Add the remote endpoint to an MCP client that supports HTTP transport. For Claude Code, use `claude mcp add --transport http getwowlink https://mcp.getwowlink.com`. Cursor, Codex, and VS Code each support the endpoint through their MCP configuration formats. Clients limited to local processes can use `npx mcp-remote` as a bridge to the same URL.

Preview inspection does not require sign-in. The design-related tools require a free getwowlink account; the client opens a browser for OAuth authorization the first time those tools are used. No environment variables or local service configuration are specified.

## Tools and capabilities

- `check_link_preview`: score a page's sharing appearance and list relevant tags to fix.
- `check_site_previews`: inspect up to 50 sitemap pages and report image coverage or failures.
- `create_previews`: produce branded Open Graph design options and return a selection link.
- `wait_for_design`: wait for a published design and report installation guidance.
- `get_install_instructions`: return `og:image` and `twitter:image` tags and the site's image URL pattern.
- `verify_install`: check live pages for exactly one `og:image`, confirm whether it is served by getwowlink, and report crawler fetching status.

## Limitations and notes

Basic preview checks are available without an account, but image design, publishing, and related installation steps require OAuth access to a getwowlink account. The site audit is capped at 50 sitemap pages per run and may require repeated polling. Rate limits apply per client: 30 page checks per 10 minutes and five site checks per hour. The repository also includes an optional `skills/og-previews/SKILL.md` agent skill that teaches preview checks and manual tag fixes; it can fall back to the public API without the MCP server.
