Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **etix_search** — Search Etix by keyword and get matching events (performances), venues, and performers — each with its id and canonical etix.com URL. Follow up with etix_get_event (event_id) or etix_get_venue (venue_id) for full details. Backs onto Etix's public suggest endpoint; returns a few top matches per category, not an exhaustive list. Read-only, no Etix account required.
- **etix_get_event** — Fetch a single Etix event (performance) by its numeric event_id — name, date/time, venue (with address + coordinates), organizer, ticket price range and the individual priced offer levels. Get the event_id from etix_search. Read-only, no Etix account required.
- **etix_get_venue** — Fetch a single Etix venue by its numeric venue_id — name, organizer, full address, and the list of upcoming events at that venue (each with event_id, name, start time, and ticket URL). Get the venue_id from etix_search. Follow up with etix_get_event for any listed event. Read-only, no Etix account required.
- **etix_find_location** — Resolve a city name or postal code to coordinates (latitude/longitude) plus the normalized city/state, using Etix's geolocation lookup. Useful as a building block for location-based event browsing. Returns found:false with a message when nothing matches. Read-only, no Etix account required.
- **etix_healthcheck** — Round-trips a small public www.etix.com URL (/robots.txt) through ContextMint Bridge (your signed-in browser tab) and returns diagnostics: the bridge's role (host/peer/null), port, version, the extension link (linked / pair pending / not attached / never answered), the elapsed round-trip time, and a plain-English hint distinguishing 'bridge never came up' from 'extension not connected' from 'this browser can't serve a capability' from 'real www.etix.com-side problem'. Read-only, no auth required. Call this when a real tool fails and you want to know which hop broke.

## What etix-mcp does

etix-mcp exposes Etix's public event-discovery workflows as MCP tools. It can search for events, venues, and performers; retrieve detailed records for a selected event or venue; convert a city or postal code into location data; and check whether the browser bridge is functioning. The results are intended for discovery and inspection rather than ticket purchasing or account actions.

Search results include identifiers and canonical Etix URLs. Event records provide the event name, timing, venue information, organizer, price range, and individual offer levels. Venue records include the organizer, full address, and upcoming events with their event IDs, start times, and ticket links.

## How it works

Etix's consumer site uses a DataDome interstitial that can prevent ordinary server-side requests. To handle this, etix-mcp routes requests through an existing etix.com browser tab using the ContextMint Bridge extension. The browser supplies the session, cookies, TLS connection, and JavaScript context used for the request.

The search operation reads Etix's suggestion results and returns a limited set of leading matches in each category, rather than an exhaustive index. Event and venue lookups parse the corresponding Etix pages. Location resolution uses Etix's geolocation lookup and returns coordinates together with normalized city and state information.

When a request fails, etix_healthcheck performs a small round trip to Etix and reports bridge and extension diagnostics. Its result helps distinguish a bridge that never started, an unpaired extension, an unsupported browser capability, or a problem on the Etix side.

## Setup and configuration

Add etix-mcp to the MCP client's configuration, install the ContextMint Bridge browser extension, open etix.com, and approve the one-time pairing. The bridge uses a WebSocket connection on 127.0.0.1:37149. Run etix_healthcheck after setup before troubleshooting other calls.

The ContextMint Bridge source is public and can be built with `npm run build`. Release archives can also be checked against their accompanying SHA-256 files. For local development of etix-mcp itself, the project uses `npm ci`, `npm run build`, and `npm test`.

## Tools and capabilities

- `etix_search` searches by keyword and returns top matches for events, venues, and performers.
- `etix_get_event` retrieves a full event record using a numeric event ID from search results.
- `etix_get_venue` retrieves venue details and its upcoming events using a numeric venue ID.
- `etix_find_location` resolves a city or postal code to latitude, longitude, and normalized location fields.
- `etix_healthcheck` checks the end-to-end browser bridge path and returns diagnostic details.

All five tools are read-only. Event and venue detail calls are designed to follow an earlier search so the required numeric identifier is available.

## Limitations and notes

Search returns only a few top matches per category. Etix does not publish a public consumer API, so the implementation relies on endpoints and server-rendered pages used by the consumer site; those details may change. The browser tab and ContextMint Bridge must be available for requests to work through the protected site. The project is unofficial, has no affiliation with Etix, and should be used consistently with Etix's Terms of Use.
