## Documentation

## What Employed by Guaq AI MCP server does

Employed by Guaq AI MCP server gives AI agents access to current job postings indexed from roughly 5,000 employer ATS boards, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, and SmartRecruiters. Search results include the employer’s own application link, so the tool supports discovery and research rather than submitting applications.

The service also covers personal job-search workflows. An agent can read or update a user profile, retrieve a ranked feed, track or untrack jobs, list applications, follow companies, and configure email alerts. These capabilities make it suitable for both one-off searches and an ongoing application process.

## How it works

Employed by Guaq AI MCP server is available remotely at `https://jobs.guaqai.me/mcp`. Agents call tools using plain-language requests, while the supplied skills teach them the service’s filter vocabulary for domains, seniority, location, work mode, technology, and visa signals.

The repository also includes five skills, two agents, and three slash commands for supported platforms. The skills cover resume-based shortlisting, employer research, hiring-market briefs, and application tracking in Markdown or CSV. Some hosts can render interactive result interfaces through MCP Apps and the ChatGPT Apps SDK.

When a tool runs, the connector sends selected search filters or identifiers and the sign-in token to the service. Profile or tracker updates send the fields or statuses the user approved. The connector does not send the resume file, conversation, or other local machine data. Job-posting text is third-party content and should be treated as data rather than instructions.

## Setup and configuration

Employed by Guaq AI MCP server requires an Employed account. Hosts that support browser authentication can sign in with OAuth; API keys from the Employed profile page are available for hosts without OAuth. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, Qwen Code, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Cursor, Cline, and other listed platforms have installation or connector instructions in the repository documentation.

The remote connector does not require code to run locally. An optional `npx` launcher is also documented; it runs the open-source `employed-mcp` package at a pinned version and connects to the same service.

## Tools and capabilities

Available remote tools include:

- `search_jobs`, `count_jobs`, and `get_job` for job discovery and posting details.
- `list_companies`, `company_profile`, and `market_signal` for employer and market research.
- `api_meta` for service metadata.
- `get_my_profile`, `update_my_profile`, and `profile_options` for profile management.
- `get_my_feed`, `list_my_applications`, `track_job`, and `untrack_job` for application workflows.
- `get_my_alerts`, `follow_company`, `unfollow_company`, and `set_email_alerts` for monitoring.

The local `npx` server additionally provides `export_jobs`.

## Limitations and notes

Employed by Guaq AI MCP server does not apply to jobs or contact employers. A visa sponsorship value of `likely` is inferred from posting text and employer history, while `stated` indicates that the posting explicitly says so. Counts refer to postings currently live on employer boards, not total employees, hires, or headcount.

The repository states that the project is MIT licensed. Users should review the linked privacy policy and terms before connecting an account.
