## Description
MCP server for 1C:EDT (1C:Enterprise Development Tools), giving AI agents access to 1C projects and configuration metadata.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
No confirmed install details yet, so no config is published. Follow the setup steps in the repository above.

## Documentation

## What EDT-MCP does

EDT-MCP MCP server adds an MCP interface to 1C:EDT, allowing compatible AI assistants to work with projects and configuration metadata in an EDT workspace. Its tools cover both read-oriented development tasks and selected changes to code, metadata, forms, and application state.

The server can report project information, configuration properties, errors, warnings, bookmarks, tasks, and TODO/FIXME markers. It can also retrieve check documentation from Markdown files, request project revalidation, and provide content assistance such as type information, method hints, and platform documentation for a code position.

For 1C development workflows, EDT-MCP can validate query text in project context, including syntax and semantic errors, with optional DCS handling. BSL tools support module browsing, structural inspection, method reading and writing, code search, and call-hierarchy analysis. Form tools return PNG screenshots and YAML layout snapshots from the WYSIWYG editor.

## How it works

EDT-MCP MCP server runs as a plugin inside 1C:EDT and exposes the MCP 2025-11-25 interface over streamable HTTP with SSE support. The tools operate against the active EDT workspace, so project context, configuration metadata, validation state, and editor-related information come from EDT rather than from an independent repository parser.

Application-management tools can list applications, update the database, launch an application in debug mode, and terminate 1C clients launched by EDT. A status bar reports the active tool, execution time, and interactive controls. Long-running operations can be interrupted, allowing cancellation and signals to be sent back to the AI agent.

The plugin also includes EDT-facing organization and editing features: custom metadata tags, Navigator groups, metadata creation, cascading renames and deletions, new attributes, and command-interface editing. Tool groups can be enabled or disabled, with presets for Analysis Only, Code Review, and Development, plus per-tool parameter defaults.

## Setup and configuration

Install the feature from the update site at `https://ditrixnew.github.io/EDT-MCP/` using **Help → Install New Software...**, select **EDT MCP Server Feature**, and restart EDT. A Windows command-line installation using the Eclipse p2 director is also documented by the project.

After installation, configure the plugin under **Window → Preferences → MCP Server**. The settings page and tag dialogs follow EDT's Russian or English display locale, while MCP tool names, descriptions, and errors remain in English.

On Windows, `get_form_screenshot` requires EDT to start with `-DnativeFormBufferedLayoutRender=true`. This option is not required for `get_form_layout_snapshot`; Linux and macOS already use buffered native rendering. The project notes that the Windows flag can affect the visual designer, so it should be enabled when screenshots are needed and removed for normal designer work.

## Limitations and notes

EDT-MCP MCP server supports 1C:EDT 2026.1 and 2026.2. The plugin is compiled against the 2026.2 target platform but emits Java 17-compatible code. Building the project requires JDK 25, while the artifact's declared execution level is Java 17.

Form screenshots on Windows depend on EDT's buffered-rendering setup and a writable temporary-file path. A gray or blank designer can indicate that EDT cannot create its rendering buffer. The documented end-to-end tests run against EDT 2026.2 and skip live-infobase tools, so those tests do not establish that a 1C platform installation is required for every application-management operation.
