## Documentation

## What ebay-sold-listings does

The ebay-sold-listings MCP server lets an MCP-compatible AI client search real eBay sales through CompsAPI. It is intended for pricing research, comparable-sales analysis, and questions about what an item actually sold for. Results include aggregate statistics—average, median, price range, and the share of sales involving Best Offers—along with the newest matching listings.

The service covers up to 1,095 days of history. It can also return accepted Best Offer prices, which is useful when the displayed listing price does not reflect the final transaction amount. Supported eBay marketplaces are the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, and Australia.

## How it works

The hosted endpoint is available at `https://api.compsapi.com/mcp` and uses streamable HTTP, so there is no local server installation in the documented setup. An MCP client sends a natural-language request that is mapped to the `search_sold_listings` tool. The tool searches by a required query such as `charizard psa 10` and returns structured sold-listing data.

Available search controls include a lookback period from 1 to 1,095 days, item condition, marketplace, eBay category IDs, minimum and maximum sold price, and result page. The `best_offer` option can add accepted offer prices or restrict results to accepted offers. Results are ordered newest first by page.

## Setup and configuration

Create a CompsAPI key through the provider’s application. The documented free key includes 100 searches per month and does not require a card. Configure the remote MCP server with the endpoint and an HTTP Authorization header containing the key:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "compsapi": {
      "url": "https://api.compsapi.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer sk_live_YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
```

Claude Code can add the connection with the documented HTTP transport command:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http compsapi https://api.compsapi.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_YOUR_KEY"
```

The ebay-sold-listings MCP server is documented for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients that support remote servers. Authentication is passed per request in the header; the material does not specify a required environment variable.

The data is provided by CompsAPI and is not affiliated with eBay Inc. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc.
