## What deploy-mcp/deploy-mcp MCP server does

deploy-mcp/deploy-mcp MCP server gives an AI assistant read-oriented access to deployment information across supported hosting platforms. It can inspect projects or sites, report the latest deployment state, retrieve logs for a chosen deployment, follow progress as it changes, and compare deployments to highlight differences, performance changes, or possible problems.

The supported platforms documented here are Vercel, Netlify, and Cloudflare Pages. GitHub Pages is listed as planned rather than available, so it should not be treated as a current provider.

## How it works

The package starts as a local stdio MCP process with `npx deploy-mcp`. An MCP-compatible client launches that process and passes platform credentials through its environment. Each configured token enables access to the corresponding provider; multiple provider tokens can be supplied together.

The deployment tools operate against the platform selected in the request. `list_projects` discovers accessible projects, sites, or Pages projects. `check_deployment_status` reports the latest state, while `watch_deployment` streams progress and error details. `compare_deployments` supports deployment comparisons, and `get_deployment_logs` returns logs useful for investigating failures.

## Setup and configuration

Start the package with:

Add the process to the MCP client configuration using the `npx` command, the `-y` and `deploy-mcp` arguments, and any provider tokens required for the platforms you intend to query. Vercel requires `VERCEL_TOKEN`, and Netlify requires `NETLIFY_TOKEN`. Cloudflare Pages accepts `CLOUDFLARE_TOKEN`; an API-token setup also requires `CLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_ID`, while the documented `accountId:globalApiKey` format places the account ID in the token value.

The provider credentials need read access to the relevant deployment and project resources. Cloudflare configuration requires account access to Pages, with the documented custom-token permissions for zones and Pages.

The README gives configuration paths and examples for Claude Desktop, VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Continue, and Cline. Continue uses a different nested configuration structure from the other examples.
