## Description
What a crypto position would really sell for: measured exit costs, address and transaction lookups.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Remote MCP endpoint (confidence: high). Install path detected from listing signals. Add as a URL/SSE server in your client:

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "cryptominium": {
    "url": "https://cryptominium.com/mcp"
  }
}
```

## Documentation

## What Cryptominium MCP server does

Cryptominium MCP server provides read-only crypto market and on-chain research through a hosted MCP endpoint. Its exit-cost measurements compare the quoted price with what a $100,000 sale actually returns. Coverage includes Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and exchange order books. Results include the measurement date and a source link.

The service also supports address and transaction investigation. It can identify whether a public address or ENS name refers to a wallet or contract, show its associated chains and token, and explain EVM transactions by describing transferred assets, fees, and approvals granted or revoked.

Additional research tools cover token background, control rights, terminology, and search. A coin profile distinguishes what is known, measured, and unknown. PowerMap identifies which company or group holds powers such as freezing, pausing, minting, redeeming, custody, governance, validation, payout, or bridging. The service does not trade, connect to wallets, provide investment recommendations, or store caller-submitted data.

## How it works

The hosted endpoint is available at `https://cryptominium.com/mcp` using streamable HTTP. The repository does not contain the service implementation; it contains connection-related files, including the MCP Registry listing, Gemini CLI extension, Cursor plugin, and logo.

Cryptominium measures exit results daily for tracked tokens. The monthly Exit-Friction Index reports the median share of value lost when selling $100,000 across all measured tokens. Tool responses are intended to be cited with their date and returned source URL, rather than treated as undated market advice.

Available tools include:

- `exit_cost`: Reports what a measured token sale actually returns and when it was measured.
- `exit_index`: Gives the monthly median exit-friction result.
- `coin_profile`: Summarizes known, measured, and unknown information about a coin.
- `powermap`: Maps control powers over a coin to companies or groups.
- `identify_address`: Classifies public addresses and ENS names.
- `explain_transaction`: Describes EVM transfers, fees, and approval changes.
- `what_is`: Defines crypto terms in plain English with sources.
- `search`: Finds matching coins and Cryptominium pages.

## Setup and configuration

No account, API key, or payment is required. Configure an MCP client with the endpoint URL directly. Claude Desktop can add it as a custom connector. Claude Code uses `claude mcp add --transport http cryptominium https://cryptominium.com/mcp`. Cursor can install the Marketplace plugin or place the URL in `~/.cursor/mcp.json`. Gemini CLI installs the repository extension, and VS Code adds it through the MCP HTTP-server command.

The Cryptominium MCP server can also be used by another client that supports streamable HTTP. There are no required environment variables described in the repository. The endpoint is remote, so running the repository locally is not part of the documented setup.

## Limitations and notes

The repository license is MIT, but that license applies to the connection files in the repository. Returned measurements are governed by the terms published at Cryptominium's data page instead.

Coverage is limited to tracked tokens and the chains and exchange order books measured by the service. A result describes a measurement, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold. Developers should preserve the date and source link when presenting an exit-cost figure. The server is read-only: it does not execute trades, connect wallets, or store data sent by callers.
