## What Contracko MCP server does

Contracko MCP server gives AI assistants access to a Contracko workspace containing business contracts and related metadata. It is designed for PDF and Word files, with support for storing contract records, extracting details, reviewing language, and tracking important dates.

The connection supports both read and write access, subject to the permissions approved during OAuth. With read access, an assistant can answer questions about the portfolio and its deadlines. Write access allows it to add or change contracts, create reminders, organize records, and complete other supported workspace actions.

## How it works

The MCP endpoint is available at `https://app.contracko.com/mcp`. A client connects through its native MCP and OAuth flow, then the user signs in to Contracko or creates a trial account and approves access. The assistant discovers the available tools rather than requiring the user to memorize tool names.

A separate skills package teaches the assistant how to perform contract-management workflows. The live MCP connection supplies access to the workspace and its operations; installing the skills alone does not connect an account.

## Setup and configuration

For Claude, Contracko can be added through its connector directory. Other supported assistants use the skills from the repository and connect to the MCP URL above. During authorization, enable Read for questions and analysis. Enable Write only when the assistant should add or modify workspace data.

When importing local files, the assistant must upload bytes only to the `uploadUrl` returned by the upload tool. The documented policy restricts uploads to HTTPS on `app.contracko.com` under `/mcp/files/v1.` and requires the declared MIME type. PDF uploads use a literal `curl -T` command. If the upload fails or execution policy blocks it, the assistant must stop rather than try another host; inline import may be available for files up to 35 MiB when the live limits permit it.

## Tools and capabilities

Contracko MCP server supports workflows including:

- Importing PDF and Word contracts, filing them, and reading back the resulting record.
- Extracting parties, dates, renewal and notice terms, governing law, liability terms, and contract types.
- Reviewing agreements for risks, liabilities, obligations, and specified language, with quoted source sentences.
- Comparing two agreements clause by clause, including liability, termination, and data-processing terms.
- Listing contracts that end, auto-renew, or require notice within a chosen period.
- Creating notifications for contract events and renewal deadlines.
- Organizing records with contract types, custom fields, and folders.
- Ranking workspace items by urgency and identifying gaps.

Drafting and signing still take place in Contracko. The assistant can guide a questionnaire, send a document for signature, and file the executed PDF when it returns.

## Limitations and notes

Contract text sent through the connection is also sent to the external assistant product making the request. Contracko states that it does not train models on contracts and describes its own analysis as operating under commercial API terms, with Zero Data Retention where available. Users should separately review the assistant provider's settings and disable model training before using real contracts.

Upload security restrictions are especially important for clients that execute shell commands. Cursor should allow only the specified `curl` pattern, with network egress limited to `app.contracko.com`; equivalent host-only restrictions and command validation are recommended for Codex and Claude environments. Broad curl permissions, redirects, proxies, alternate hosts, and upload workarounds are not supported by the documented policy.
