## Documentation

## What Chinaready China Market-Entry Search MCP server does

Chinaready China Market-Entry Search MCP server gives MCP-compatible AI clients access to the public Chinaready.co knowledge base. The content focuses on China market entry for Western SaaS, app, and game teams. It covers subjects including ICP filing and licensing, app-store and game publishing, China cloud regions, payments, and compliance.

The server is read-only. It does not mutate data or require an account. Search results include ranked excerpts and absolute links to the originating Chinaready.co pages, allowing an agent or developer to trace an answer back to its source.

## How it works

The service is available at `https://mcp.chinaready.co/mcp` as a stateless Streamable HTTP MCP server. It acts as a thin proxy over Chinaready's public retrieval API at `search.chinaready.co`. The implementation runs on a Cloudflare Workers-compatible runtime, stores nothing, and uses no secrets or environment variables.

A client can first inspect the available subject areas with `list_topics`, then use `search` to find relevant passages. When complete page context is needed, `get_article` retrieves a Chinaready.co page as clean Markdown. Article retrieval is restricted to site paths that the service has validated as safe.

## Setup and configuration

Remote MCP clients can connect directly to the endpoint without starting a local process or supplying an API key. Claude can add the endpoint as a custom connector with no sign-in. Claude Code supports an HTTP MCP registration such as:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http chinaready https://mcp.chinaready.co/mcp
```

Other clients that support remote MCP servers can use a configuration entry with the server URL:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "chinaready": {
      "url": "https://mcp.chinaready.co/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Cursor and VS Code also provide installation links or configuration formats documented by the project. No local dependencies, Cloudflare credentials, or runtime configuration are needed for normal use.

## Tools and capabilities

Chinaready China Market-Entry Search MCP server provides three read-only tools:

- `search`: Performs hybrid semantic and keyword retrieval across the corpus, returning ranked excerpts with absolute Chinaready.co URLs.
- `list_topics`: Shows covered topics, example questions, and relevant hub pages.
- `get_article`: Fetches a Chinaready.co page and returns its contents as clean Markdown.

These tools suit exploratory research as well as source-backed follow-up questions. They do not write to Chinaready.co or provide transactional access to cloud, payment, publishing, or government systems.

## Limitations and notes

The server only exposes content from Chinaready.co and is not described as a general web search service. Its information is read-only, and the available material is limited to the topics represented in that corpus. Results include source URLs, but the server itself does not claim to verify legal, regulatory, commercial, or technical decisions beyond retrieving the published pages.

The endpoint is public and unauthenticated. Because it is stateless and stores nothing, clients should retain any research context they need. The project is licensed under MIT.
