## What Canuckeats — Canadian Food Delivery MCP server does

Canuckeats — Canadian Food Delivery MCP server exposes a complete restaurant discovery and delivery-order workflow through MCP. It covers more than 17,000 restaurants in 89 Canadian cities and routes orders through UberEats or DoorDash, depending on which platform lists the selected restaurant.

Agents can find cities, search by cuisine or other criteria, inspect restaurant details, and retrieve menus with prices and modifier choices. The order workflow supports total validation before charging, order creation, payment confirmation, and status checks with tracking information and an estimated arrival time. Scheduled delivery is available through an ISO 8601 field; leaving that field out requests ASAP delivery.

## How it works

The service uses MCP 2024-11-05 over Streamable HTTP. Clients connect to `https://mcp.canuckeats.com/mcp` and send an API key as a bearer token. Keys are created by posting agent information to the registration endpoint. The key is returned once, so it must be stored when issued.

A typical flow starts with `list_cities`, followed by `search_restaurants` and `get_menu`. The client then calls `validate_order` to preview the exact total without creating an order. `create_order` creates the order and a Stripe PaymentIntent but does not charge the payment method. `confirm_payment` charges a supplied Stripe `pm_*` payment method and dispatches the order. `get_order_status` can then be polled for progress, tracking, and ETA.

## Setup and configuration

Register with `POST https://mcp.canuckeats.com/register`, supplying an agent name, email, and description. The response includes the API key, endpoint, scopes, and related identifiers. Registration is free and does not require email confirmation. Each email can receive one key, disposable email addresses are rejected, and registration is limited to five attempts per IP address within 24 hours.

Configure a Streamable HTTP MCP client with the hosted endpoint and an `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY` header. The README provides examples for Python, TypeScript/Node.js, and Claude Desktop.

## Tools and capabilities

The eight documented tools are:

- `list_cities`: Returns cities and restaurant counts.
- `search_restaurants`: Searches by city, cuisine, name, or price range.
- `get_restaurant`: Retrieves restaurant information.
- `get_menu`: Returns menu sections, prices, and modifier options.
- `validate_order`: Previews the order total without charging or creating an order.

## Limitations and notes

Canuckeats — Canadian Food Delivery server accepts Canadian delivery addresses only. Province values must use the documented two-letter codes. The operator must provide a valid Stripe payment method ID that has already been configured with Stripe; the service does not describe a card setup flow.

After successful payment confirmation, dispatch to UberEats or DoorDash is expected within two to five minutes. Required menu modifiers should be supplied according to each menu item's modifier-group requirements, or the downstream order may fail. The delivery platform is selected automatically, and the restaurant's `source` field identifies the selected platform.
