## Description
Your AI agent rings your iPhone, reads its question aloud, and returns your spoken answer as text. Hosted remote MCP at https://callmemcp.com/mcp with six tools: setup, call, poll_result, text, wait_for_reply, set_thread_title. No API key or OAuth: you pass your 10-digit /call-me number. The iPhone app is a paid subscription.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **setup** — Return first-setup instructions and a clickable App Store download link when no number is available.
- **call** — Ring the human's iPhone, read `question` aloud word for word, and return
what they say back. It does not have to be a question: an update or a
summary of the day ahead works too, up to 2000 characters (about two
minutes of speech). Waits up to ~30s; if the result comes back status
"ringing" or "in_call", follow up with poll_result. On a local client, read `to` from
`~/.aiphone/config.json` → `user_number`; this hosted server cannot read
that file itself. It is a Call Me app number, not a regular phone number.
If missing, returns setup_required with the App Store link. Pass a previous
session_token to stay in the same thread on their phone.
- **poll_result** — Check on a call that was still ringing or in progress. Waits up to ~25s
for it to settle; returns the final status and transcript once the call
ends, the human declines, or the ring times out ("missed").
- **text** — Send a one-way text to the human's phone (push notification, no ring).
    On a local client, read `to` from `~/.aiphone/config.json` → `user_number`;
this hosted server cannot read that file itself. If missing, returns
setup_required with the App Store link. Pass a previous session_token to
    stay in the same thread.
- **wait_for_reply** — Wait for the human to send something back to this session — texts and
    voicemail transcripts arrive here. Long-polls up to wait_s (max 30s);
returns {events, cursor}. Pass the returned cursor next time to only see
new events. An empty events list just means nothing yet — poll again if
    you are still waiting.
- **set_thread_title** — Name this session's conversation thread on the human's phone (e.g. the
project or task you are working on). Shown as the thread title in the app.

## Documentation

## What CallMeMCP does

CallMeMCP MCP server gives an AI agent a phone-based way to contact a person through the Call Me iPhone app. A call reads the agent's supplied text aloud and returns the person's spoken response as text. The text can be a question, status update, summary, or other message rather than a question specifically.

The server also supports one-way messages delivered as push notifications, incoming replies, voicemail transcripts, and named conversation threads. It transports messages between the agent and phone; it does not make decisions or maintain a voice conversation independently.

## How it works

The hosted MCP endpoint is available at `https://callmemcp.com/mcp` and does not require an API key or OAuth. Requests identify the recipient with the 10-digit number assigned by the Call Me app. That number is an app-specific Call Me number, not a conventional phone number.

A call waits briefly for completion. If the call is still ringing or in progress, the agent can use the returned call information with `poll_result`. Replies and voicemail transcripts can also be collected with `wait_for_reply`, which returns events and a cursor so later requests can ask only for new activity. A session token keeps calls and texts in the same phone thread.

## Setup and configuration

Install the Call Me app from the App Store and complete its initial setup to obtain a personal 10-digit number. The app is offered as a paid subscription. The `setup` tool can provide first-use instructions and an App Store link when no recipient number is available.

Local integrations store pairing information in `~/.aiphone/config.json`, including `user_number`; a local server can read it automatically. The hosted endpoint cannot access files on the user's computer, so hosted clients must receive the number through their configuration or pairing flow. The repository documents setup paths for Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cline, Cursor, Grok, ChatGPT, and claude.ai.

## Tools and capabilities

CallMeMCP MCP server exposes these tools:

- `setup` returns setup guidance and the App Store link when needed.
- `call` reads up to 2,000 characters aloud and returns the spoken reply when available.
- `poll_result` waits for a ringing or active call to finish and returns its status and transcript.
- `text` sends a one-way push-notification message without ringing the phone.
- `wait_for_reply` long-polls for texts and voicemail transcripts, returning events and a cursor.
- `set_thread_title` assigns a visible title to the current phone conversation.

## Limitations and notes

Call and text content is limited to 2,000 characters. The MCP call flow waits roughly 30 seconds initially, while polling can wait roughly 25 seconds; callers should continue polling when a call remains active. `wait_for_reply` accepts a maximum wait of 30 seconds, and an empty event list means that no new reply arrived during that interval.

The hosted service cannot read local pairing files. The README also documents request limits of 20 rings per hour and 60 per day per IP, plus 10 calls per hour and 40 per day to one number. A blocked sender appears as a missed call with no transcript, which is indistinguishable from an unanswered call.
