call4me lets your AI agent make real phone calls for you. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or your own app to book a table, schedule a dentist appointment, cancel a subscription or ask a business a question. It calls, waits on hold, gets through the phone menu, talks to the person who answers, and reports back with the outcome and a transcript. It can also ring you to join the call. Calls are paid from prepaid credits, starting at $10.

## What call4me MCP server does

The call4me MCP server gives an AI agent access to real outbound phone calls. An agent can ask it to contact a business, make a reservation, arrange an appointment, cancel a subscription, or ask a question. The service handles waiting on hold, responding to phone menus, and talking with the person who answers. After the call, it reports the result and provides a transcript.

The service can also ring the user so they can join a call. Calls use prepaid credits: loads start at $10, and the default arrangement reloads the same amount monthly through Stripe.

## How it works

The hosted MCP endpoint is `https://call4.me/mcp` and uses streamable HTTP. The agent authenticates through a browser with Google or X, or uses an account key from the call4me account page. In an agent workflow, the model supplies the requested call objective and the MCP service starts and manages the call.

The call path uses Telnyx for telephony and media streaming. A voice session exchanges audio with OpenAI GPT-Live, while a separate back-office model can use functions such as ending the call, asking the user for input, and sending keypad digits. Menu recovery can respond to repeated menus, invalid input, and recorded instructions after the prompt becomes quiet.

The call4me MCP server also exposes recording retrieval through `call4me_get_recordings({ call_id })`. Results are fresh download links subject to account ownership and may be empty while processing is pending or when no recording was saved.

## Setup and configuration

For the hosted service, add `https://call4.me/mcp` as an MCP server or custom connector. Claude Code and Codex provide command-line setup and login flows; Cursor can use a `~/.cursor/mcp.json` entry. Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, and ChatGPT can add the endpoint through settings and connectors. An API key can be sent as a bearer token or included in the endpoint path.

Applications can use the `call4me-ai-sdk` package with the Vercel AI SDK. The documented installation includes `call4me-ai-sdk`, `ai`, `zod`, and `@ai-sdk/openai`; application code supplies `CALL4ME_API_KEY` and passes `call4meTools()` to the agent.

A self-hosted deployment requires Telnyx Call Control configuration, an OpenAI API key with GPT-Live access, and Stripe webhook handling. Telnyx needs a connection ID, API key, webhook URL, and webhook public key. Each account's number is purchased on its first call and attached to the Telnyx application.

## Limitations and notes

Calls consume prepaid credits, with the maximum expected cost held before dialing and the final charge settled against actual talk time. A call made from the user's own verified number only reaches businesses in that number's country, and the user is still called from a call4me number.

The application does not request recording when dialing or answering. Existing Telnyx recordings may nevertheless be available after the call, and recording links can expire. Empty recording results can indicate delayed processing or that no recording was saved.

The hosted workflow depends on account authentication and provider availability. Self-hosting also requires managing Telnyx, OpenAI, Stripe, and the deployment configuration described above.
