Korean Saju (Four Pillars) MCP server with 5 free birth-chart analysis tools.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **saju_chart** — Four Pillars (四柱八字) natal chart: year/month/day/hour stems and branches, Ten Gods (十神), hidden stems, five-element ratios, Spirit Stars (神殺) and Twelve Life Stages (十二運星) per pillar. The foundation other tools build on. Use for 'show my saju / bazi chart', '내 사주 봐줘'.
- **ohaeng_balance** — Five Elements (五行: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) distribution with hidden-stem weighting; dominant and weakest element. Use for 'which element am I missing', '오행 분석'.
- **gyeokguk** — Gyeokguk (格局) chart structure by classical rules: named pattern and grade, body strength (strong/weak), sub-patterns, and the elements behind the judgment. Use for 'what is my chart pattern', '내 격국'.
- **eumyang_johu** — Yin-Yang (陰陽) ratio and climate (調候: hot/cold, dry/wet) balance, and how they shift across 10-year and yearly luck cycles. Use for 'is my chart hot or cold', '조후 분석'.
- **yongshin_candidates** — Classical Yongshin (用神, favorable element) candidates from five methods (Eokbu, Byeongyak, Tonggwan, Johu, Gyeokguk) with each method's pick. No final engine decision. Use for 'my favorable element candidates', '용신 후보'.
- **manse_calendar** — Korean manse-ryeok (萬歲曆) calendar for a month or a single day: each day's pillar (日辰), month and year pillars, lunar date, solar term (節氣) with its exact start time (Korea time) when one falls on that day, 손없는날 and 황도일 flags. No birth data needed. Use for 'what is today's day pillar', '이번 달 손없는날', '2027년 2월 일진'.

## What cafe-mcp does

The cafe-mcp MCP server connects MCP-compatible AI clients to the CAFE engine for Korean Saju and Chinese BaZi work. It calculates Four Pillars from birth information and returns structured results that an AI can use when composing a reading. Outputs include Hanja, Five Elements, Ten Gods, hidden stems, twelve life stages, stars, combinations, clashes, and void information.

The server also provides ten-year luck cycles, yearly and monthly pillars, monthly solar and lunar calendars, solar-term times, auspicious dates, and reverse searches for dates and times matching requested pillars. Supporting reference tools cover 980 Saju terms in Korean, Hanja, and English, along with selected classical works such as Ziping Zhenquan, Ditian Sui, and Qiongtong Baojian.

## How it works

Connect an MCP client to the remote endpoint at `https://mcp.24plus.ai.kr/mcp`. The client can authenticate through OAuth or a bearer key issued by 24PLUS. After connection, provide birth date, time, and related location details to the calculation tools. `find_birthplace` helps locate a city for longitude correction, which is relevant for births outside Korea.

`saju_reading_context` combines chart facts, current luck, term meanings, and reading principles into a prompt-ready response and is described as the preferred first call for a reading. The calculation engine accounts for solar-term timing, birthplace longitude, historical time zones, and daylight saving information. Results can be requested in English with `lang="en"`; otherwise, values come back in Korean with Hanja.

## Setup and configuration

Use the remote MCP URL in a compatible client. Claude.ai, Claude applications, and ChatGPT can add it as a custom connector, sign in to 24PLUS, and approve access. Claude Code and Cursor can use the URL with OAuth or a bearer token. A Claude Code example is:

For JSON-based configuration, set the server URL and an `Authorization` header containing the bearer token. Keys can be created through the 24PLUS account area. Connections can be removed from **My account > Connected AI**. The retired npm package and earlier local stdio deployment are not the current setup path.

## Tools and capabilities

The cafe-mcp toolset includes:

- `saju_chart` for detailed Four Pillars chart data.
- `luck_cycles` for decade cycles and related yearly or monthly pillars.
- `saju_reading_context` for a consolidated reading input.
- `manse_calendar` and `find_dates_by_pillars` for calendar and date searches.
- `find_birthplace` for city lookup and longitude correction.
- `lookup_term`, `search_classics`, and `read_classic` for terminology and source texts.
- `chart_structure`, `useful_element`, and `luck_index` for Day Master strength, useful-element candidates, and 1-to-5 cycle or period levels; these are Plus features.

## Limitations and notes

The free plan allows 10 different charts per month, 300 tool calls per month, and 20 calls per minute. Free classical-text access is limited to three results, translation excerpts, and tables of contents. Plus is listed as launching soon and raises these limits while enabling the three engine-judgment tools and expanded classical-text access.

A previously viewed chart does not count again toward the monthly chart total. Birth data is used for calculation, while the service retains a one-way fingerprint for monthly chart counting rather than the birth date itself. The repository code is licensed under Apache-2.0.
