## Description
Email verification for AI agents: verify single or bulk emails, check credits and history.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **verify_single_email** — Verify a single email address in real-time
- **verify_batch_emails** — Verify up to 50 emails in one request
- **get_account_balance** — Check your credit balance
- **get_verification_history** — List verification history (paginated)
- **get_verification_stats** — Aggregated statistics for 7d / 30d / 90d / 1y
- **get_task_status** — Poll the status of an async file verification job
- **get_download_url** — Get download URL for results with status filters
- **create_webhook** — Subscribe to file completion events
- **list_webhooks** — List all configured webhooks
- **delete_webhook** — Remove a webhook
- **health_check** — Check server health

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "billionverify": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","billionverify-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "BILLIONVERIFY_API_KEY": ""
    }
  }
}
```

**Requires environment variables:** `BILLIONVERIFY_API_KEY` — the values above are empty placeholders; fill in real credentials before running (see the repository for what each one is for).

## Documentation

## What BillionVerify MCP server does

The BillionVerify MCP server exposes BillionVerify email verification operations as tools that an MCP-compatible assistant can call. It covers both immediate checks and account-level operations, allowing an agent to verify an individual address, submit a group of up to 50 addresses, or inspect usage information.

The available account tools return the current credit balance, paginated verification history, and aggregated statistics for 7-day, 30-day, 90-day, or one-year periods. A health check is also available for confirming that the MCP service is responding.

## How it works

The BillionVerify MCP server can be used in two ways. The hosted option is available at `https://mcp.billionverify.com/mcp` over Streamable HTTP. It uses OAuth 2.1, so users sign in with their BillionVerify account and approve access. The hosted endpoint does not accept BillionVerify API keys.

The self-hosted option runs the TypeScript implementation with Node.js 18 or later. It communicates with the BillionVerify API using an API key supplied through the environment. The API base URL can also be overridden when needed.

Asynchronous file verification is handled through separate tools. An agent can check a task’s current status, request a result download URL with status filters, and subscribe to file-completion events through webhooks. Webhooks can be created, listed, and deleted from MCP calls.

## Setup and configuration

For the hosted BillionVerify MCP server, add the MCP URL to a supported client and complete the BillionVerify OAuth sign-in flow. The README documents setup for ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor. Claude Code can add the endpoint with an HTTP transport command, while Cursor uses an MCP configuration containing the server URL.

For self-hosting, run the package with `npx billionverify-mcp`, install it globally with npm, or build it from the repository. Set `BILLIONVERIFY_API_KEY` to a valid API key. `BILLIONVERIFY_API_URL` is optional and defaults to `https://api.billionverify.com`.

## Tools and capabilities

- Verify one email address in real time.
- Verify batches containing up to 50 email addresses.
- Check account credits and review paginated history.
- Retrieve verification statistics across supported time ranges.
- Track asynchronous file jobs and obtain filtered result URLs.
- Manage completion webhooks and check service health.

## Limitations and notes

The hosted endpoint requires OAuth and rejects API-key authentication. API-key use requires the self-hosted deployment. Batch verification is limited to 50 email addresses per request. File verification results may require asynchronous status polling before a download URL is available.

The BillionVerify MCP server is released under the MIT license. Its configuration and authentication behavior differ between the hosted and self-hosted options, so choose the deployment mode based on whether account-based OAuth or local API-key management is appropriate.
