## Description
Battery value-chain inventory MCP: lookup SKUs, status/reorder, bin-check, audited confirmation.

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
No confirmed install details yet, so no config is published. Follow the setup steps in the repository above.

## Documentation

## What battery-erp does

The battery-erp MCP server provides an agent-facing interface to a battery value-chain domain library. Its inventory scope covers raw materials, cells, packs, and related supply-chain records. Agents can look up SKUs, inspect inventory status, identify reorder conditions, check warehouse bins, and request audited confirmation of an inventory result.

The underlying package models materials, cell chemistries, battery cells, battery packs, bills of materials, suppliers, purchase orders, inventory records, manufacturing batches, and price history. Deterministic rules support BOM cost rollups, chemistry and pack costing, inventory status updates, reorder suggestions, supplier scoring, purchase-order analysis, manufacturing yield metrics, price trends, and what-if cost scenarios.

## How it works

A shared `InventoryService` supports both the REST adapter and the MCP adapter, so the same inventory-oriented service layer can serve agent and HTTP workflows. The MCP process is intended for stdio connections; the repository diagram shows it being used with Cursor and Claude clients.

The library can use a built-in table of prices for more than 20 battery materials. Separate pricing functions can retrieve live commodity values through AlphaVantage and macroeconomic indicators through FRED. Reporting modules generate inventory health, supply-chain, manufacturing, and pricing reports. Microsoft Fabric support adds notebooks for creating 11 Delta tables and producing a cost and operations dashboard, but the project is described as a domain library rather than a hosted ERP.

## Setup and configuration

Install the MCP extras from PyPI:

```bash
python3 -m pip install 'battery-erp[mcp]'
```

For development from source, clone the repository and install the editable development package:

```bash
git clone https://github.com/icohangar-ops/battery-erp.git
cd battery-erp
python3 -m pip install -e '.[dev]'
```

The package requires Python 3.10 or newer. A separate `api` extra installs the REST adapter rather than the MCP tools.

## Tools and capabilities

The battery-erp MCP server is suited to these inventory operations:

- Find inventory records by SKU or related battery item.
- Check whether stock is available, low, or out of stock.
- Evaluate reorder conditions and suggested purchase actions.
- Check a warehouse bin before an operational decision.
- Obtain an audited confirmation for an inventory result.

The wider package can also calculate representative cell and pack BOMs, compare chemistry costs, score and rank suppliers, track purchase-order pipelines, measure manufacturing yield, and model material-price changes. Fabric notebooks provide persistent Delta-table storage and SQL-oriented analytics for the documented battery value-chain entities.

## Limitations and notes

The battery-erp MCP server is not a hosted ERP. The repository presents it as an adapter over a domain library, so deployment, persistence, and surrounding operational systems remain part of the integrating application's design. Fabric setup requires running the included setup notebook before using the documented Delta-table analytics. Live pricing depends on the corresponding external pricing integrations; default material prices are available independently.

Confirm those details in the repository's integration documentation before wiring the server into production automation. The project is MIT licensed.
