## What the Antwork MCP server does

The Antwork MCP server connects an AI client to social accounts through Antwork's hosted MCP endpoint. After OAuth authorization, an assistant can work with LinkedIn personal profiles and company pages, X, Instagram, Facebook Pages, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.

Its core workflow is draft first, then schedule or publish when requested. It can create account-specific drafts by reading recent posts, publish to one account or several as a campaign, attach images, videos, or PDFs, and manage media. It also supports calendar views, post listing and search, retries for failed posts, and engagement reporting.

Platform requirements still apply. Instagram and Pinterest require an image or video, TikTok and YouTube require video, and Instagram requires a Creator or Business account.

## How it works

The Antwork MCP server is exposed at `https://api.antwork.io/mcp` over Streamable HTTP. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration. The first tool call opens a browser consent flow; afterward, the assistant can provide connection links for individual social platforms. The README states that one OAuth token covers all workspaces.

The connector handles individual operations such as drafting, publishing, scheduling, media, and account connections. The repository also provides Agent Skills for Claude Code and claude.ai, where a router maps requests or `/antwork` commands to longer workflows. These include voice capture, content calendars, platform-specific repurposing, campaign sequencing, data-informed ideas, analytics reports, and a scored social-presence audit.

The audit uses five dimensions: performance, voice consistency, cadence, content quality, and growth. Claude Code runs those read-only agents concurrently, while claude.ai runs them sequentially because it does not provide subagents.

## Setup and configuration

Add the server URL as a custom MCP connector in a compatible client. In VS Code, the configuration uses an HTTP server entry with the Antwork URL, and GitHub Copilot must be installed and signed in. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, and other MCP clients are documented as supported connection options.

Claude Code users can install the repository as a plugin, which configures the Antwork MCP server and includes the skills and audit agents. The repository also offers a shell installer for copying skills and agents into `~/.claude/`, a ClawHub package for OpenClaw, and a ZIP upload for claude.ai. The skills require the Antwork MCP connection; the plugin performs that setup automatically.

Platform-specific media and account restrictions can prevent a post from being published. Multi-step skills are additional repository assets and are not required for basic posting operations.
