Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **angi_search_pros** — Find home-service pros on Angi for a trade in a US city. Returns each pro with ratings (overall plus per-dimension: quality, value, punctuality, professionalism, responsiveness), review count, percent-recommended, years in business, service area and amenities. `trade` and `city` are Angi slugs — resolve them with angi_list_trades and angi_list_cities first. 10 pros per page; use `page` to walk further. Note Angi has no zip-code filter: location comes from the city slug only.
- **angi_get_pro** — Read one Angi pro's full profile: business details, service area, hours, amenities, awards, tasks offered, contact address, and the ratings breakdown. Also reports how many reviews the page carries (fetch them with angi_get_reviews).
- **angi_get_reviews** — Read the reviews on an Angi pro's profile page: rating, body text, reported job cost, date, service categories, verification flag, and the pro's public response where one exists. Filter by rating to isolate complaints or praise.
- **angi_list_trades** — List every trade slug Angi publishes (~312, e.g. "plumbing", "air-duct-cleaning", "basement-waterproofing"). Call this to resolve a free-text trade to the slug angi_search_pros needs. Reads Angi's public sitemap directly — no browser bridge required.
- **angi_list_cities** — List every US state/city that Angi publishes pages for, for one trade. Use it to confirm a city slug exists before searching, or to discover nearby cities. Reads Angi's public sitemap directly — no browser bridge required.
- **angi_get_account** — The signed-in Angi user: first name, email address, user/entity ids, unread message count, and how many open and closed projects they have. Requires the browser tab to be signed in.
- **angi_list_my_projects** — The signed-in user's Angi projects (service requests and bookings), open and closed. Records are returned exactly as Angi sends them — the response sets `recordFieldsVerified: false` because no populated project has been observed yet, so field names should be read from the data rather than assumed.
- **angi_list_my_reviews** — Reviews the signed-in user has written, plus pros Angi is prompting them to rate (`unratedPros`). Same caveat as projects: records pass through raw and the response sets `recordFieldsVerified: false`.
- **angi_healthcheck** — Round-trips a small public www.angi.com URL (/robots.txt) through ContextMint Bridge (your signed-in browser tab) and returns diagnostics: the bridge's role (host/peer/null), port, version, the extension link (linked / pair pending / not attached / never answered), the elapsed round-trip time, and a plain-English hint distinguishing 'bridge never came up' from 'extension not connected' from 'this browser can't serve a capability' from 'real www.angi.com-side problem'. Read-only, no auth required. Call this when a real tool fails and you want to know which hop broke.

## What angi-mcp MCP server does

The angi-mcp MCP server connects an MCP host to Angi's home-service listings. It can search for professionals by trade, US state, and city; retrieve an individual professional's profile; and inspect review records. Results may include ratings, review totals, years in business, service areas, amenities, rating dimensions, reported costs, review dates, categories, and responses from the professional.

The server also exposes Angi's published trade and city taxonomies. These lookup operations read public sitemap data, so they do not require the browser bridge. With an Angi session open in the browser, additional tools can return the account identity, open and closed projects, and reviews written by that account. The project and review records are returned without a verified field projection because their shapes have not been confirmed.

## How it works

Angi page requests are routed through the user's own angi.com tab by ContextMint Bridge, a browser extension that uses the fetchproxy protocol. This approach reuses the browser session and avoids requiring Angi credentials in the MCP process. Public sitemap requests for trades and cities bypass the browser entirely.

Search parameters use Angi slugs rather than display text. An agent can first find a matching trade with `angi_list_trades`, find supported cities with `angi_list_cities`, and then call `angi_search_pros`. Searches return ten records per page. The `compact` option produces smaller records for browsing or ranking. Use `angi_healthcheck` to inspect bridge connectivity before requesting browser-backed data.

Ratings contain both an unrounded overall value and Angi's rounded display value. The unrounded `rating` is intended for ranking, while `displayRating` reflects the shown rating. A sponsored flag identifies paid placement and should not be treated as a quality measurement.

## Setup and configuration

Install the package globally with npm and register `angi-mcp` as a command-based MCP server in the host configuration. A Chrome installation is currently required for the bridge. Install the ContextMint Bridge extension, open an `angi.com` tab, grant the extension access to that site, and approve the pairing code shown on the first request. The trust relationship then persists.

No Angi account is needed for public listings, profiles, taxonomies, or reviews. The account-specific tools require the browser tab to be signed in. The server has no documented environment variables or credential configuration.

## Limitations and notes

The angi-mcp MCP server does not provide reliable ZIP-code filtering; location is determined by the city slug. Account project and review records are marked as having unverified fields. Angi's inbox is not available through these HTTP requests because its messaging system uses the Twilio Conversations SDK.

The angi-mcp MCP server must run on the same machine as the required browser tab and therefore cannot be hosted remotely for a service such as claude.ai. The browser bridge is currently supplied for Chrome; Safari support is not available in the documented setup. The repository is licensed under MIT.
