## Description
An AI agent's own long-term memory, on your machine. Needs a one-time: npx anairyspirit setup

## Claude Desktop Quick Installation
Install path detected from listing signals. Uses `npx` (confidence: high):

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "anairyspirit": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y","anairyspirit"]
  }
## Documentation
## What anairyspirit MCP server does
The anairyspirit MCP server gives an AI agent memory that persists between sessions. It is intended for recording how the agent works—such as corrections, decisions, recurring mistakes, and the results of previous approaches—rather than replacing project documentation or source files.
Memory is stored locally in a graph. Nodes can be connected by similarity, contradiction, supersession, or part-whole relationships, allowing retrieval to follow meaningful associations instead of matching only exact keywords. The system also records both when an event occurred and when the agent saved it, which supports queries involving relative time.
The server can identify people, projects, and places, keeping alternate spellings associated with the same entity. It also supports multilingual semantic remembering and search across more than 100 languages. Time expressions, tagging, and contradiction cues are supported in English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
## How it works
The anairyspirit MCP server runs as a Rust program and exposes the memory system to agents over MCP. A light sleep process handles incoming material, while deep sleep can organize memories into topics and relationships when it is due and the machine is idle. Automatic deep sleep must be enabled for it to run automatically; otherwise, the agent is notified when it is due.
Deep consolidation is transactional: if it fails partway through, the prior memory state remains unchanged. Less-used material becomes less prominent without being deleted, while material selected by the agent for long-term storage remains available. Search can provide an explanation of its process, including intermediate findings, timing, and result ordering.
## Setup and configuration
The documented npm installation requires macOS or Linux and Node.js 18 or newer:
```bash
npx anairyspirit setup
```
After installation, an MCP client can start the server with:
```bash
npx -y anairyspirit mcp
```
Homebrew installation is also documented for macOS and Linux. macOS users can instead open the provided disk image. Docker images are available for amd64 and arm64, and Linux packages include deb, rpm, and tar.gz formats. Setup downloads approximately 1.5 GB of models; an offline installation is supported.
## Tools and capabilities
- Persist agent memories across sessions and projects.
- Recall related memories through graph connections and semantic search.
- Record event time separately from recording time.
- Extract and unify names for people, projects, and places.
- Consolidate memories during light or deep sleep.
- Explain search results and their ordering.
- Store data locally with optional ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption.
- Move the complete memory in one encrypted file.
## Limitations and notes
The anairyspirit MCP server uses about 2 GB of RAM while running and needs roughly 1.5 GB of disk space for its models. A larger and more accurate search model is used on machines with at least 16 GB of memory. Supported platforms are macOS 11 or newer, Linux with glibc 2.34 or newer, and Docker.
The application does not require a cloud service or an LLM after setup, and it reports no telemetry according to the project documentation. Encryption can be disabled, unlocked with a passphrase at startup, or configured with a passphrase stored on disk for unattended startup. Each installation receives a locally generated 24-word recovery phrase for emergency-stop recovery and forgotten-passphrase resets. The project is distributed under an EULA.
